2015 STOCK BIG CAR RULES (ADKINS & CREEK)
1. ANY PASSENGER CAR OR STATION WAGON ONLY. NO TRUCKS, JEEPS, HEARSES, LIMOUSINES OR CHECKERED CABS. NO PRE 1973 CHRYSLER IMPERIALS AND NO IMPERIAL SUB FRAMES. NO PRE 1973 LINCOLNS.
2. SEDAGONS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
3. ALL GASS, SIDE WINDOWS, REAR WINDOWS, HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE REACHING TRACK. ROLLING DOWN WINDOWS IS NOT PERMITED.
4. REAR SEAT OF SEDAN MUST BE REMOVED, TOP AND BOTTOM. ON STATION WAGONS ALL SEATS AND DECKING MUST BE REMOVED. STATION WAGONS MUST BE EMPTIED TO THE FLOORBOARDS.
5. CARS MUST HAVE A SEATBELT AND WORKING BRAKES. MANDATORY!!
6. BATTERY MAY BE MOVED, BUT MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED AND COVERED IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. TWO BATTERIES ARE ALLOWED.
7. FRONT WINSHIELD BAR IS MANDATORY AND IS LIMITED TO A 2” WIDE X 1/4” THICK STRAP OR A CHAIN/9 WIRE LOOP.
8. STOCK GAS TANK MUST BE REMOVED FROM ORIGINAL POSITION AND MOUNTED IN THE REAR SEAT AREA AND SECURED. NO RUBBER OR CHAIN STRAPS. ALL TAMKS MUST HAVE A SECURE CAP. A MARINE TANK OR FUEL CELL IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. ALL LINES AND FITTINGS MUST BE LEAK PROOF AND MEET APPROVAL OF THE TRACK OFFICIALS. ELECRIC FUEL PUMPS ARE ALLOWED.
9. ALL LINES MUST BE RAN INSIDE CAR, NOT ALONG THE FRAME UNDERNEATH.
10. ALL LINES SHOULD BE DOUBLE CLAMPED. NO ALOCOHOL.
11. RADIATOR MUST BE IN STOCK POSITION.
12. ANY AUTOMOTIVE TYPE RADIATOR CAN BE USED. ALUMINUM RADIATORS ARE LEGAL.
13. NO HOMADE RADIATORS ARE ALLOWED.
14. NO RESERVE TANKS AND NO ADDED COOLING CAPAPCITY.
15. ONE ELECTRIC FAN, MOUNTED TO THE RADIATOR, MAY BE USED.
16. DO NOT MOVE CORE SUPPORT.
17. NO BODY SEAMS MAY BE WELDED. NO METAL MAY BE ADDED.
18. NO DOUBLING OF BODY PANELS ALLOWED, NO ADDED METAL ALLOWED.
19. NO BODY CREASING.
20. FENDERS MAY BE BOLTED TOGETHER. MAX 10-3/8” BOLTS ABOVE THE FENDER WELL.
21. DOORS AND TRUNKS MAY BE CHAINED, WIRED OR WELDED. WELDED DOORS AND TRUNK ARE THE ONLY WELDING ON THE CAR BODY ALLOWED. WHEN WELDING DOORS AND TRUNK: 6” ON 6” OFF ALL THE WAY AROUND.
22. NO CHANGING BODY MOUNTS. DON’T TOUCH THEM!
23. SUSPENSION MUST BE STOCK. SPRING SPACERS ARE ALLOWED.
24. YOU MAY RUN ANY TIE ROD.
25. NO SOLID SUSPENSION. CAR MUST BOUNCE.
26. HOOD MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION.
27. HOODS MUST HAVE 2 HOLES, AT LEAST 4” IN DIAMETER ON EACH SIDE OF THE CARBURETOR. NOT DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE CARBURETOR. IF THE HOOD IS REMOVED, EITHER THE FAN OR FAN BELT MUST BE REMOVED.
28. HOOD MAY BE SECURED BY 2 PIECES OF ALL THREAD OUTBOARD THE RADIATOR. CANNOT BE SLEEVED.
29. HOODS CAN BE HELD SHUT WITH 1 OF THE FOLLOWING BUT NOT BOTH:
(A) 8 PIECES OF 2” LONG PIECES OF 2” X 2” ANGLE WITH A SINGLE 3/8” BOLD THROUGH THEM
(B) 8 PIECES OF #9 WIRE ATTACHING HOOD TO FENDER.
30. YOU ARE ALLOWED UNLIMITED #9 WIRE ACROSS THE FRONT IN FRONT OF RADIATOR.
31. YOU MAY USE 4 PIECES OF ALL THREAD TO SECURE THE TRUNK LID. ALL THREAD MUST BE INSIDE FRAME IN FACTORY LOCATION THROUGH REAR BODY MOUNTS ONLY. 3” WASHER MAX. NO SLEEVING THE ALL THREAD AND NO NUTS DIRECTLY UNDER THE TRUNK LID.
32. UNLIMITED #9 WIRE ACROSS THE BACK CAN BE USED HERE AS WELL FROM TRUNK TO BUMPER AND IN 4 SPOTS ON EACH SIDE. OR 4 ANGLE BACK TO BACK WITH ONE 3/8” BOLD IN EACH.
33. THE TRUNK LID MUST REMAIN ON HINGES.
34. THE TRUNK LID MAY BE V’D IN THE CENTER, BUT MUST REMAIN ATLEAST 10” OFF THE TRUNK FLOOR.
35. ALL CARS MUST HAVE A SAFETY CAGE AND ROLL OVER BAR.
36. A 4 POINT CAGE IS REQUIRED AND LIMITED TO 4 POINTS ONLY. YOUR CAGE MUST HAVE A DASH BAR THAT MUST BE 4” FROM THE FIREWALL. YOU CAGE MUST HAVE A BAR BEHIND DRIVER’S SEAT NO MORE THAN 6” AWAY FROM IT. YOU MUST HAVE 2 SIDE BARS AND THEY MUST NOT BE FARTHER THAN THE REAR WHEEL HUMPS AND MUST NOT EXTEND PAST YOUR DASH BAR. THE SIDE BARS MUST NOT BE WELDED TO THE REAR HUMPS.
37. ROLL OVER BAR CANNOT BE MORE THAN 6” BEHIND DRIVER’S SEAT. ROLL OVER BAR CANNOT ATTACH TO FRAME. WELD OR BOLT IT TO SHEET METAL ONLY. A 6” X 6” PLATE MAY BE USED IS AIDING IT TO BE ATTACHED TO FLOOR SHEEY METAL. ROLL OVER BAR CAN BE BOLTED TO ROOF.
38. THE CAGE CAN BE WELDED TO SHEET METAL ONLY. YOU CAN HAVE UP TO 4 DOWN POSTS, 2 PER SIDE. NOTHING CAN BE RAN BETWEEN THE REAR WHEEL HUMPS OR WELDED TO THE HUMPS. NO KICKERS TO THE FRAME HUMPS- FRONT OF BACK.
39. CAGE CAN BE MADE OUT OF 4” PIPE OR 4” SQUARE TUBING MAX.
40. ALL DOWN TUBES MUST BE AT OR BEHIND THE DASH BAR, STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN. WELDED TO SHEET METAL ONLY.
41. YOU MAY HAVE A GAS TANK PROTECTOR NO WIDER THAN 24” AND 10” OFF BACK OF SEAT PAN.
42. NO WELDING, PLATING OR REINFORCING OF THE FRAME.
43. ALL FACTORY FRAME HOLES MUST BE LEFT OPEN.
44. ANY REINFORCING OF FRAME FOUND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
45. SUB FRAME CARS CANNOT BE TIED TOGETHER. IF YOU WANT TO RUN A FULL FRAME CAR, BUY A FULL FRAME CAR, DON’T BUILD ONE.
46. YOU CAN SHORTEN THE FRONT FRAME ONLY TO AID IN MOUNTING FRONT BUMPER. CANNOT BE MORE THAN 3” INCHES AND MUST NO TOUCH FRONT MOUNT.
47. ANY STEERING ALLOWED.
48. REAR FRAME RAILS MAY NOT BE SHORTENED.
49. YOU MAY CHAIN OR WIRE YOUR AXLE TO FRAME HUMP.
50. OEM STOCK SHOCK CANISTER AND STOCK BUMPERS ONLY. ANY BUMPER ON ANY CAR. NO REAR BUMPERS OR REAR SHOCK TUBES ON FRONT. MUST BE MOUNTED WITH FACTORY MATERIAL AND IN FACTORY LOCATION.
51. BUMPERS MAY BE WELDED ON. NO ADDED METAL, SINGLE PASS ONLY.
52. YOU MAY BOLT A CHAIN FROM BUMPER TO BUMPER SHOCK AT THE FRAME 3/8” MAX.
53. LOADED BUMPERS CAN BE LOADED ONLY INSIDE OEM CAR BUMPERS!
54. BUMPERS CAN BE NO HIGHER THAN 26” FROM THE GORUND TO THE TOP OF THE BUMPER OR LOWER THAN 16” FROM THE GROUND TO THE BOTTOM OF BUMPER.
55. ANY ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION MAY BE USED IN ANY CAR, BUT MUST BE MOUNTED WITHIN 6” OF THE ORIGINAL MOTOR. ENGINE CANNOT PROTRUDE INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT BEFORE THE RACE.
56. LOWER ENGINE CRADLE WITH PULLEY PROTECTOR ALLOWED.
57. CHAINED, WELDED OR HOMEMADE MOTOR MOUNTS WILL BE PERMITTED, BUT MUST MEET APPROVAL OF OFFICIALS. (NOTHING ADDED TO STRENGTHEN CAR)
58. TRANSMISSION OIL COOLERS AND ENGINE OIL COOLERS ARE PERMITTED. THEY MUST BE SECURED AND CONTAINED AND COVERED INSIDE THE CAR, FOR THE DRIVER’S PROTECTION.
59. PULLEY PROTECTORS ARE ALLOWED.
60. NO SKID PLATES.
61. NO DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTORS.
62. FACTORY ALUMINUM CRADLES IN 2003 AND NEWER CARS MAY NOT BE CHANGED. NO HOMEMADE CRADLES.
63. HOMEMADE GAS PEDALS AND SHIFTERS ALLOWED.
64. ANY FACTORY CAR REAR END CAN BE USED. NO AFTERMARKET REAR ENDS. COIL SPRINGS MAY BE TACK WELDED OR BOLTED AT THE BOTTOM.
65. ON MODELS ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED WITH LEAF SPRINGS, STOCK LEAF SPRINGS AND HANGERS MUST BE USED
66. LEAF PACKS ON ALL CARS MUST BE OEM STOCK.
67. SLIDER DRIVE SHAFT IS PERMITTED.
68. NO ADDED REINFORCEMENT TO THE REAR END ALLOWED. ONLY THING THAT CAN BE ADDED TO REAR END IS TO ALLOW YOU TO MOUNT IT IN THE CAR. NOT TO STREGTHEN THE HOUSING.
69. YOU MAY HAVE 5 SPING CLAMPS PER SPRING.
70. ANY WHEEL/TIRE ALLOWED, ROUND AND BLACK.
72. PRE RAN CARS ONLY: CAR MUST BE BENT! YOU MAY USE 4- 4X4X1/4 PLATES NO BUTTING PLATES TOGETHER AND MUST BE AN 1” GAP BETWEEN PLATES. ½” WELD MAX. YOU MAY REPLACE BROKEN BODY MOUNTS WITH ½” BOLT . MUST UTILIZE FACTORY RUBBER BUSHING. 3” WASHER MAX. WASHER CANNOT BE WELDED TO BODY OR FRAME.
2015 Mini Car Preparation and Build
1. Wheelbase must not exceed 102” for RWD cars and 108” for FWD uni-body cars only. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2. No shortening “snubbing” of frames- front or back. No moving of axles to shorten wheel base.
3. Must be powered by four or six cylinder engines. NO V8s.
4. NO LEAFING MINI CARS- ex. (No adding of extra leafs to existing leafs. No coil to leaf spring conversions). No four-wheel drive vehicles.
5. NO HUMP PLATES
6. Stock gas tank MUST be removed. Gas tanks must be relocated behind driver’s seat, securely fastened and covered. Any visible leaking fuel will result in automatic disqualification. All plastic tanks must be in a steel enclosure. However, it cannot be bolted to strengthen the car.
7. All glass, chrome molding, hood latches, gas tanks, and rear seats must be removed before cars arrive at the fairgrounds.
8. Stock type hood must be used. Hoods must be open for inspection-and cannot be bent down in front of radiator. Hoods can be secured in 6 places with 2” by 2” x ¼ angle (NO longer than 6” with 3/8th bolts) or #9 wire in 6 places. You may use 1” all thread only in core support with 3” max spacer, but this will count as 2 of your 6 places! The factory rubber bushing between the sub-frame and frame must remain using the 1” all thread.
9. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER.
10. Radiators must stay in original location and can be wired on all four corners. You may run electric fan. Factory condensers only and they may be wired in, not welded.
11. Batteries must be moved to the passenger’s side floor board. The battery box cannot strengthen the car in any way. NO more than 2 batteries
12. No welding on frames or seams. This will be checked. No plated frames.
13. Cutting the ends off bumpers and fenders for clearance is permitted.
14. All cars must sit level within 5” with no car sitting lowers than 16” from the bottom of the bumpers or higher than 21” from the bottom of the bumpers.
15. Sunroofs must be covered, no exceptions.
16. CAGE or DRIVERS DOOR BAR IS MANDATORY!!! A welded 4-point cage can be put around driver’s compartment. It has to be no bigger than 4” x 6” inches and can be welded to car but not excessively. The front bar has to be 5” from the firewall and tunnel. Back cage bar no further back than 12”s past driver/passenger door posts. NO KICKERS AT ALL OF ANY KIND (OUTER, INNER, DOWN, OR UP)! Roll over bars are mandatory! Roll over bar must be straight up and down. Gas tank can sit on or in a steel protector coming off the back cage bar but not touch any sheet metal. Must be “floating”. Gas tank proctors size cannot exceed more than 2” in length or width of standard fuel cell/gas tank. Standard Size fuel cell measurements are: 12" long x 10" wide so add 2”s to each and that will be recommended size. NO EXCESSIVE PROTECTOR!!
17. Motor swaps and rear end swaps are allowed. Slip shafts are allowed.
18. No protectors at all.
19. You can use aftermarket steering column, after market tie rods. Front sway bar cannot be welded.
20. Transmission coolers or oil coolers are allowed. No transmission protectors at all.
21. Any year factory bumpers which can be welded are allowed. Loaded factory bumpers or homemade (McCollum/DEC type) bumpers are allowed, but no extreme pointed bumpers, you will either cut the extreme point off or grind it down. Bumper shocks not to exceed 12” and must be inside frame. Bumper shocks will be measured from back of bumper where the shocks are mounted/bolted/welded!
22. Doors and trunk seams can be welded solid using no bigger than 3" strapping by 1/8th inch thick material. No re-enforcing body panels. Trunk must have open 12” hole to see inside. Body creasing and pre-bending is allowed. No wedge cars, quarter panels must remain up. 1 window bar is allowed from top of roof , not to exceed 6" from back glass and down to trunk but not to exceed 6" from back of speaker deck. Back window bar can not touch rollover bar. This is for safety only!
23. NO WELDING except bumpers, door/trunk seam and motor mounts.
THE ONLY WELDING ALLOWED WILL THE BE BUMPER, THE CAGE, DOORS,
MOTOR MOUNTS, ANGLE ON THE HOOD AND TRUNK.
THESE ARE ALL OUTLINED ABOVE. IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN DO IT, DON’T ASSUME THAT YOU CAN!
