There where only 4 rwd at the late show and 2 at the fair show. If u guys r trying to make it so people get back into the sport its the same concept with compacts as full size. Its not fair to these guess that don't have all the money to put into a stroker 4cylinder and everything. Its just as bad. This class will still be a money class. Who ever has the money takes the trophy home. I say run fwd only in compacts and run rwd in midsize. So if the rwd count is only 4 that means the rest was fwd. so if the have the less numbers there is no reason to separate them. I have seen fwd win derby against rwd guys several times. Most of the time in a mixed field you can watch from the sidelines and see all the fwd hit each other and not rwd guy. IF YOU HAVE NUMBERS TAKE THEM OUT otherwise its on you for letting them win by not hitting them.

Its hard to take out a rwd car if its built right almost impossible with a fwd car. Its like a stock Vic against a full frame imp. Sure there in the same class but its not fair at all

Nothing moves good after you knock the wheels off of them. nothing is impossible stock vic knock front wheels off imp its junk. If 12 cars show up and 4 are rwd that's 8 on 4 or 2 on 1. hard to beat those odds.

I have PLENTY of seat time in under built cars that I built on a budget and I still have a couple of nice trophies at home. You must not have any and that's why you are wanting classes changed to accommodate yourself and take away from the guys put the time in effort into building rwd cars. You have posted you want fwd cars only in another forum as well. Since you think only rwd cars can win save your money buy a car put the time into it and run 1. Not everybody has time to build a fresh fwd car for every show run it once maybe twice and its junk so they build 1 nice rwd and get several derbies out of it. Compacts are decided by the wheel base not where the drive tires are.

I will end this conversation..... We have no plans of separating the FWD from RWD compact cars. As long as they meet the wheel base and engine size they will be allowed to run. We put on multiple derbies, and this year FWD cars won just as much as RWD cars did. We will be making some changes to the rules in regards to fix it plates, bumper shocks and suspension to help level the playing field a little.
Bottom line: If you dont put a decent bumper (80's or old iron bumper) on your car, you have little chance of winning. Most of the compact cars that show up have the stock plastic and sheet metal bumpers. Those cars are not going to compete against a RWD or FWD car with a good bumper.
If a well built RWD car is getting picked on by a few FWD cars, then so be it. Go after the big guy first. Many times, these cars last to the end because most people are afraid to go after them. See it all the time.

Good drivers in fwd Will eat up rwd all day long. Fwd are faster and Easyier to get around. Same reason why a couple new style ford will tear apart a subframer. I have been running compacts for almost 20 years. I have been on both sides of the fence. I love driving a hard built amc or pinto. But times are changing I ran 5 Derbys last year all 5 in fwd and i Finished in the top 3 in every run. And was not beat by any rwd. Fwd are where it's at.
