I have an early 80s ranger. The stock steering box has been broken twice. A early 80s f-150 steering box bolts right up and is twice the size but make sure you get the steering shaft too because the rag joint splines are different. The f-150 shaft is too long too so you will have to take both to fab one up.

First time running a mini truck or truck for that matter. Use to running and building compacts. What is the though on bumpers front and rear. Have the option of full size bumpers of 4x4x1/4 in tubing must be flat no contours. I cannot shorten the frame or plate the crush boxes. The only welding allowed is for bumper mounting, cage and gas tank protector. Any other tips anyone could think of. The bumpers I have in my collection are 80s ford fronts and rears 74 Malibu front and rear and 75 cutlass grant and rear.

How can you configure your cage and are you using any engine protectors? And what truck are you building?

It's a 96 regular cab v6 auto 4 point cage with a halo cannot attach to frame. Gas tank protector can attach to the frame on either side.
