What's the best year for these and is a 2wd better or a 4wd. And are the newer Mazda trucks the same the bodies look very similar are the frames the same? Thanks

Older style. 4wd with solid front axle, leafed. Build it right and they are strong. I have a 92 2wd that's been through some hell and has yet to bend in the middle. Just make sure you get long front bumper mounts to cover the crush points in the front if your rules don't allow you to plate them. Mine still haven't bent in but have moved to the side a little and all my hitting was my front. I didn't even get the bumper mounts but highly recommend them. Also, make sure I you get a 2.3l, chain the mounts because if they break, your oil filter will get crushed and you'll be screwed. Happened to me twice. I made the right side a solid mount and chained the left side. Good luck.

You gotta leaf it, they never made them. I'm just saying, a straight axle front with leafs would be the best way to go.

how would that work no body needs leafs in the front with kickers Not worried about it bending so much as it is just way harder to break the steering. The longer you can keep all 4 wheel under you the better off you'll be. JMO

I lost steering in a single hit because I was hit up against the wall and wheels went in together. Bent the drag link in a U- shape. When I tries turning, drag bar ground down the inside of the rims. Then next hit, done.

If it looks like a rear axle, its solid.
