We just run mop coolers and made our own actually that uses the same parts as a mop but is way stronger

I had planned on building an icebox cooler with just copper tube looped in the bottom, but sitting in the garage the other day looking at all the stuff ive stripped out of the car i started to wonder has anyone used the heater core or ac evap core as a heat exchanger in an icebox? I would have to measure the inlet and outlet tube size but possibly a compression fitting would seal on it.

I have not. I’ve always used factory transmission coolers from the junkyard off trucks, vans, limos, ambulances, etc. My best setup is from a F350 and it has an old honda civic electric fan on it. I have never had the budget to buy cool stuff. I have always made my own.

I have used AC condensors with electric fan in the past. It worked well but it was annoying to mount. I never cared for the icebox idea so never tried it. Too many stories of water ingestion into trans, and the water in ice box heated up quickly when I tried it.
