The problem with giving specifics is that there are way too many variables to have one correct answer. What works best for a guy running ten minute heats with no radiator in the mountians at WOT on 87 octane, will be different than a guy running easy for an hour with proper cooling system at the beach running 110 race fuel. And if someone says use x carb and y jets, someone will disagree because the metering block is wrong for x cfms on that cubic inch motor. Etc. I agree with this but it would be nice to see part #'s on carbs to get a feel and a list of what has been used on cars to have an idea of what to search for.

A 1 inch open ended wrench is the full proof way to check...... but after you've been in a few hundred of them it doesn't take long to pick a big bore one out

I'm running a Holley 750 double pumper. Ran it on stock 350 but I'm running a 305 this year. I think I should downsize but to what size?

Im new to engine building and carbs ect, i have a 1984/98 mustang 3.8L 232cu (baby Cleveland) The stock carb would be a motor craft 2150 but is not there cause it didnt come with 1 and im having a hard time finding one up here in ontario, what would be a alternative carb to use? it requires a 2 barrel. Im not looking for huge hp just reliable and on the cheaper end as this is a learning curve for myself.

Converting carbs to alcohol. What are best-easiest ways to go about it? Say like 350 Chevy or 360 mopar. 2 barrel stock carb?

If you know a good carb builder they can set you up one. Never had any luck with anything other tan a 500 holley 2v. But Jason Koch can build you a 2g.

I am looking into getting a little better performance out of my carb. I've done a little reading about in race applications guys blocking off the power valve. Is this a thing for derby engines? Its a stock 2.3L, C3 trans, Holley 2bbl 350cfm.

I don't really have a brand preference of fuel pump, some guys swear by holley reds or blues or blacks, some guys swear by Holley XPs. I think it's more beneficial to mount them correctly (with rubber so it isn't ridged mounted, below the level of the fuel cell, with a filter in front of it).

I have a 4412 carb on a fairly stock vortec 350. I can't seem to get running perfect. It will idle good but it won't take the fuel when I hammer on it unless I peddle it a couple times. It runs very rich. The plugs are black. It has 68 jets in it and a 4.5 power valve. Ive tried the timing everywhere from 32 to 38 total. I have tried to set the float level but the engine is tilted to the passenger side in the car. Could that maybe be the problem? Accelerator pump need adjusting? Different size jets? Suggestions?
