Every motor is different. The best thang u can do is to drive your car and check the spark plugs. They should be the color of cardboard. If your plugs are black go smaller in jet size if they are grey go bigger. Jmo good luck

you can make the carb you have now work but it will take some adjusting. Being that its a vac secondary you can change when the secondaries open.

Ran a Holley 7448 350cfm on a 3.1 over the weekend. When I first get on the throttle it would die out a little then it would come to life. Not quite sure what to check any suggestions?

Play with the accelerator pump adjustment in my experience with a 3.1they like a big shot of fuel when u hammer it.

I am having trouble deciding what carb I want to buy. I have been looking at 2 barrel Rochester from Derby parts.com and holley 4412 from summit racing. It will be on a stock 350, 350 trans and stock rear.

It may cost a little more, but your getting something for our purpose.

Just wondering, plumbers use this jelly like product to cool down surrounding stuff when they are soldering joints and things. It was suggested by some one that it would be a good thing to spray on a derby carb to keep it cool. A big coating to be applied just before the derby. Has anyone ever done this and has it worked?

I tried it two years ago at a county fair just to see if it helped any... infrared thermometer said it help by about 15-20 degrees. I run a spacer/adapter now between the carb and intake so there's no need for the gel.
