I would guess a 10 bolt c clipper but you have to crawl under it and look to figure it out. How to identify it is talked about in the beginning of this thread.

72 delta 98. 455 olds with some kind of bop trans. It has a 12 bolt but how do I tell if it's a bop 12 bolt or gm 12 bolt? If it's a gm 12 bolt I would like to get a mini spool for it if it's a bop I'll just weld it and junk it if it breaks. New to the page. Lots of trick for an idaho guy.

It will be the odd ball 12 bolt. Start burning wire and weld her up.

I haven't had a chance to read through the thread before asking but what rear end is typically under a 1972 Olds Cutlass? Is width an issue if using that rear with crown vics and does it have the correct brackets to bolt right into vics?

If you are calling the brake drum a hub , measure across the drum , its probably a 11 inch .

How are people getting bigger than 31 spline axels in a 10 bolt rear and what axles are they using to pull this off? Heard about some "big name" drivers doing this but don't know how or what lol

You can order 33 spline Moser axles with a 33 spline spool and install in a 10 bolt-in axle. Randomly installed from factory in mid-seventy's impalas , buick ,oldsmobile and Pontiac.

Take a C clip rear weld on Nerat Bolt in axle ends. Put full spool 33 spline spool in and gear of choice and then get some brass bearings for the axles and get 33 spline hobby stock axles from whatever brand you prefer and brace if you want run drums or pinion brake if you want and let her eat. If money isn't an issue can do A lot with these. Or like said start with a bolt in rear housing and put same set up in for spool and axles.
have heard of 35 splines put in with brass still but they are getting pretty thin from what i was told...
