If you are only upgrading to a 30 spline c clipper. They came in many fullsize metric cars ans are a direct swap.

I have a 10bolt it has bia. But the hubs are 4 3/4 on 5. The axle shaft is shorter than one out of a olds 88 and the axle bearing is different. It also has 28 spline axles. It has 4 link brackets on it also the cross style yoke not the flange style. Any ideas what it would have been out of?

Even my rearend guy hadnt seen one before. I was so lost when i was gonna weld the spiders up and it didnt have clips. I thought i was crazy at first. I kept it around for years thinking id do something with it, but then realized id never find another axle so i tossed it.

Some people are running the 8.5 GM 30 spline metric rears. I have absolutely no experience to offer about them because I don't run them. I have put a 10 or 12 BIA from a 71-76 GM in every Ford or GM metric car that I have ever ran.

I have 6-8 on the rear pile in the yard. I've also seen those style rears in the early metric full size. The axles are different length if i remember.
