This might be a dumb question considering how many caprices there are posted but has anyone ever ran an '82 4 door Malibu with a 4.3 in it? The car is super clean and someone has done work to the engine considering it has a 4bbl intake and carb on it not including a newer distributor and long tube headers. Pretty sure I seen an msd box under the hood, been a while since I looked under the hood.

Here they are. we-crash.proboards.com/thread/14237

'86 Caprice Classic Brougham Second build, first car I've ran though. Was 16 years old, now 17. Had a buddy haul it to his place so it stayed there while I worked on it. Got her home, fixed core support where a girl rear-ended a truck. Bolted a arms down, etc. Took her up the school so I could use better equipment. About done. Prebent. Small notch made 18" back from end of frame rail. About to paint. No paint runs! Ah, chrome and gloss black paint... Vinyl stickers make it tougher. Pic with mom before my heat lol. After the most fun 20 minutes of my life and a 1st place trophy. Rushing building your cage is a bad idea, was getting double teamed toward the end of heat and had a really hard hit to my passenger door... minimally welded door bar broke free and swung right into a brand new optima, still kept on chuggin' though. Plus the same hit put a nice tear in my firewall and bent the gas pedal under the brake pedal! Stuck at 3000ish RPMs for the rest of the demo! Fixed and on the way to the next derby! Did okay, car ran like crap the whole time but still ended with a 3rd. Core support pushing fan into pulleys took me out. Stripped. And here it sits! Figured I should keep my first car around, it'd be neat to have in 40 years or so. The other car I brought to school and had our shop class build it last year, I let both my shop teachers drive it in separate derbys, one 7th, and one 4th. The shop teacher who got 4th with it is paralyzed from waist down. '79 Impala. Frame stayed perfectly straight.

Check the compact section there's pics of a cutlass that Hatchet 101 built, but it looks like he can build a tank where he runs.

I can't run as a compact or midsize due to my local rules only allowing fwd and mini vans in midsize so it will be built as a bone stock against old iron GM's

You are going to need it.
