I’m not sure if I got my timing right down pat. It turns iver when she’s really really hot and starts but I feel like it’s not enough. I got it nice and hot today and shut it down it literally kept running I’m pretty sure they call that “diesling” killed power to it and all kept running. Im just wondering if this is where I want my timing to be? 355 Low end rv cam HEI

You don’t want to let it get that hot just for the heck of it. Maybe 200* but no more. Set your timing to start and run good. I does you no good if it starts but runs like crap and putters around if it moves at all. If your motor is built good an loose it won’t get that hot anyway

i have a couple engines that just like to do that when warm. Try shutting it off in gear and see if it takes that away.

Also try higher octane fuel. Mine did this too when on 88 or so, then switched to premium 93 and it never did this again.

Boiling fuel in the carb a lot of times. Try a little taller spacer under the carb or even the wooden spacers help..
