So I'm putting together a demo derby car, for a "gut and go" class I have the "gut" done but not so much the "go" part. It's a 1997 Buick Skylark (3.1). The fuel pump was bad so I removed the tank and relocated a different tank I had to the back seat. I used a high pressure pump frame mount pump, wired directly to the battery. I have plenty of fuel flowing through the rails and returning back to the tank. Issue I'm having is it will start and run for 5-10 sec then shut itself off. If I spray starting fluid in it for a few secs it will eventually take of and run on its own, for as along as I want... not sure what i'm dealing with? (Also new fuel pressure regulator)... maybe security issue? I see online some of these cars had a "full tank pressure switch." I do not see one on my old tank? Anyone have any thought??
