After going on seven months of my now-4-year-old being obsessed with watching derby on YouTube after he went to his first one, and asking me to go to a derby even though they don't happen around here when the weather is cold, AND now my 2-year-old being into it, I think derby is going to be a significant part of my life for the foreseeable future.
So let's start small. Power Wheels derby. Do any of y'all run your kids in a Power Wheels derby? If yes, what mods do you normally make to the vehicle?
I've read in the rules for some of these Power Wheels derbies that you can swap the original battery for a lawn mower battery. I got the vehicle for my kid last week, but it looks like it has a special connector that goes into the Power Wheels branded battery. Do any of y'all know how to do that swap? If yes, how do you do it?

Should just be 2 wires you can buy connectors or just splice in the +/- in. Make sure and fuse the positive otherwise dress it up like ya want and make a bigger gas pedal so it's easier for them to find it with their foot and Move the shifter so they don't have to bend down to use it... Make it fun not competitive for them....

How do you move the shifter? Is it just a wired switch without any other mechanical connections, that is easily unscrewed and placed elsewhere if the wires are lengthened or whatever?
