Hello, So i am working on a 2007 Kia Sedona. The car received a complete detail, including engine bay.
After, the detail the car began to shift funny while driving, and not wanting to shift into or out of park, with out using the emergency shifter button.
So, i dug in the shifter area, to diagnose the problem. Here is the troubleshooting attempts, BUT still no conclusion.
1. shifter WILL NOT shift with out using the Emergency Button--->2 2. removed the shifter cable from shifter and shifter will move freely!--->3 3. SO IS IT SHIFTER CABLE?--->4 4. I then removed the shifter cable from the shifting linkage on transmission (assuming i could shift the transmission manually at the transmission!!!!) NO LUCK!!
So, what do your readers think? Bad Cable (binding) Bad (I believe neutral safety switch at transmission) *Reminder engine bay was washed*
All advice is welcome and thank you!

Depending on what was used to clean the engine bay, Pressure washer & acid based soap it may have creeped into a sensor or switch on the trans .
