So I have a 66 imperial I'm dropping a 383 into rather than a 440. Long story short I checked the starter gear and the teeth are FUBARed so decided to get a TCI torque convertor for it. Since I'm a ford guy I am not super familiar with mopar, i am certain its a 727 trans. We have tried to put the new convertor in the other trans (it has no forward so its junk to me) but we can take the original one and put into both trans just fine, still alot more wiggling than all my fords or chevys but they go in. The TCI will not go into either no matter what we do. ive spent 2 nights screwing with this and well im about to abort ship on this pile.
is there anything im missing? it needs to go back at least 1 more inch. also ive measured with calipers every single thing i could. even called 4 other people to confirm that this does not fit.
by the way this will be my last purchase from summit tired of folded in half gaskets and wrong parts.

Count your splines! Being a 66', that should have a 19spline shaft. That converter is a 24 splin.

Had a 727 sitting there, fresh rebuild. Decided to throw a truck together last minute, and spent hours trying to figure it out. Lol
