What's your opinion on arch plates, 22"x 6" straight or contoured? I've been using contoured plates with good luck, only bent one but the rear was so used up i was hitting with the arches. Here lately I've been seeing guys use straight plates. Didn't know if i was missing out.

I say straight and shape it as a d since your plate 6 inch tall this can use the extra lip as a bridge to keep it from collapsing.

Material type plays a role and if it has to remain flat.

I've had a little playing time with a stress analysis program, kind of ran this test out of curiosity. I don't have the pictures anymore, but both add strength to the arches (obviously), but a little bit different.
Straight- Stronger in a 2D sense, it definetly keeps the hump stronger and prevents them from collapsing on themselves better. In what I found, this does put more stress at the areas where the hump plate ends. What this one "misses out" on is as much weld surface area, and some level of predictability.
Contoured- Still strengthens the hump, just differently. This option technically is worse are keeping the hump from collapsing, but is still very good at it. What you gain is more weld surface area, actually more material since it's on a radius (which, really doesn't matter all that much), less stress at where the hump plate ends, and more predictability. Along with that, these have a better tendency to pull themselves in. I don't have a picture of it, but a really well rolled back end will start to pull the frame rails in towards the center, this allows that much more uniformly.
So in conclusion, for me, it depends on the car and the build. If I was running a leafed mod car, I would run them straight. With a limited weld car, I'd run then on the side, just because predictability matters to me in that type of build.

straight, on the inside. Weld all the seams.
