I got a Malibu 1975 I’m taking it to a limited weld derby.. I plan on hard nosing it for sure, but I’m wondering where you guys put your front plates? Im gonna go front end all day with this car, derby is in may, how far back from the humps should I notch the frame?

You allowed the 14 inch long by 3/8 inch thick bumper bracket most limited weld classes allow? If so I'd put the plates are fire wall but if not you'll need them in the curves a arms forward.

I just got off from work bud I’ll look and read the rules cafully later tonight and we will chat for sure..you run these bad ass cars before ? Not really liking the way the frame has the natural curve after the arms yikes

The biggest problem with thise cars is near the steering gbox on the driver frame.

That is an old car I will look for some pics tomorrow. that car was ran 7/8 times then sold it in 2013 I think. It still running now

I decided to not notch the rear frame I’m gonna keep it solid and hard nose the front along with plates and gonna go front end all day with this car

Decided to notch the frame anyone got ideas? So the humps don’t blow so fast? Where did you guys cut it before or after the natural bend in the rear ?
