If he wants to put a 2stroke in his valiant (hes not) How will he get the power to the rear wheels? Will he use a transmission? How will he get it atached to the motor? I was thinking he would use the factory clutch and belt drive which he would just burn up. this is what i was thinking something like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCUIKo9xsGEThe thought is all wrong for derby, although the concept may yet be applied for a 24 hrs of LeMons car. Less starting and stopping in a road race car and has worked in the past (there's a Miata with a Polaris triple and no transmission), terrible idea for derby. Our idea involved using 1st/reverse on a Saginaw. It would work, just not well for derby. 1. Too many launches from stop 2. Mounting the engine wouldn't be allowed in most rule sets 3. Problems when car bends.

Ive always thought about putting an air cooled engine like a whats in a corvair in a derby car.
