My cousin has a 96? Ranger with the 4.0,4x4 auto and it runs fine. Drive it for 20mins and shut it off then it doesn’t wanna start until it cools back down. Not overheating or anything, just curious why it doesn’t like “hot” starts. Could it be the oil pump going out possibly? That’s all I can think it would be..need help lol

Will it start if you hold the gas pedal to the floor? They have problems with the fuel pump relays and wiring at the upper intake manifold-try shaking the harnesses when cranking and see if it starts. Try unplugging the coolant temp sensor and see if it's starts.
