Looked through all the threads and couldn't really find anything on building a leafspring pack. Going to start building one and was going to add 1/4 in thick steel as a leaf. Will that work or is it best to use a actual leafspring to add?

stock looking stair step....use a real leaf.....
some stiff 7 9 or 12 pack a 1/4 piece or 2 at the bottom of the stack isn't horrible......not ideal.....
mopar leafs are basically toilet paper as it is....

Most likely a stupid question but how are you guys pulling these all together? Made jigs with hydraulic presses or just run allthread through and wrench together? I’ve got a leafed car that needs serious upgrades but have never done this or seen it done. Feel free to pm thanks

I used a vise/6 c clamps and 2 people to get the leafs to stay decently straight the bolt you use made sure it's 8 grade. Or you may strip threads pulling them together

I’ve got an idea for a jig to keep things straight by myself. You just use old packs laying around or besides junkyard is there a good place to buy leafs?

When i was building leaf packs of 8 or so I’d stick a couple pieces of malleable flat stock in there. It was a lot easier to get the centering pin hole in and I never had any issue. Not quite as rigid but for what I was doing it worked just fine. Plus it beat trying to scrounge up enough leafs to get a pack, especially when they were picky about the stagger.

I thought of this too. Rules I’m looking at say no homemade leafs. I might just have to Frankenstein something together in the end. I’m also considering a different car and just putting an s10 leaf pack or something

Centering it wasnt a problem how i did it. It just took time to smash down. my 64 y framer has 5 leafs factory under it. I ran it factory just put clamps on To see which I liked more. Run built pack then stock one week later I think if I had another 5 pack I'd run it.
