Junior in high school, walking into broadcasting class, so it was the room with all the TV's. I remember I had to work that evening. I've never felt such an erie feeling, or seen downtown toledo so dead....

5th grade, teacher got a call on the phone and she told us to basically do what we wanted while she ran and snagged a tv. Brought it in and started watching. Another teacher came in and watched with her. The looks on their face made us catch on. We watched then too. I remember the quick panic after that as some gas stations raised their prices to $6 a gallon in some spots. Remember after that how everyone was super proud to be an American and the feeling of how we were all in it together? How far we have fallen.

Fellow old guy here. Sleeping after a graveyard shift. Friend called to wake me with the news. Then got a call for a 250 mile tow job. With price gouging happening, I watched gas prices more than double by the time I got home. I was a few days shy of 28.

6th grade science class. Principal opened the door and told our teacher to turn the news on, watched it for the rest of the day and I don't think anyone said a word...

It was such a devastating event to happen and it really doesn't feel like it was 19 years ago. Hell I was 2 years old when it happened.

I'm with the old guy crowd. I awoke to it as I was/am in Alaska. At the time I was active duty Soldier and was to fly to NY the following day for UN security detail. Needless to say; that trip was cancelled.

Was at the start of my senior year in high school. Someone in the hallway before classes asked if anyone else had seen the 1st plane hit. At the time I hadn't and incorrectly assumed it was just a small civilian aircraft that had an accident. We spent the entire day listening to the radio or watching TV if we had one. At the time it was suspected that up to 30,000 or more could have been in the Towers but since it was early it wasn't as many. After school I took my dad out around town in my '95 Chevy Tracker watching people pay $5-$7 a gallon or more to fill up in long lines. Panic was replaced with a renewed sense of patriotism and the search for whoever committed the acts of terror.

I was in second grade, don’t really remember much of it happening except what we were seeing on the news. The thing I remember the most was the sound of Air Force one breaking the sound barrier over top of my house after school, shook the whole house and the ground outside.
