I actually switched to decent ratchet straps over chain. I never had much issue with the chain, but sometimes it would bind where a ratchet strap has a little flex in it.

I’ve always used seatbelts. Wrapped it around and tied off. Leaves room for movement and doesn’t cost anything.

We don’t use anything Nick Where do u mount crossmember on the tranny? Back in the original location? Car is built with a stock tranny but will have a full dp and tilted at the crossmember.

Just use 2x2" or move the stock one and weld it in place with some angle and use stock trans mount.

Yea ive been using a 2x2 crossmember. Ive been resting the tranny on the crossmember where it bolts from the factory(th350). 1st time broke the trans in half between the mount and the pan. 2nd time was fine so i guess I'm 50/50
