What style fan would be best for a stock build full size? Factory front bumpers.

The plastic nylon one auto parts store sells has been my favorite. I've tried clutch and electric. If you have time to wait order off eBay it's cheaper by like 20 to 30 dollars

Ranger fans are damn nice, and if you have a big junkyard close by they are dirt cheap as well. But if the car was 100% bonestock with short feautures Id probably run whatever junk came on it.

Either a good electric with a shroud in the radiator or a 12 blade ranger with a corrugated plastic Shroud (if using a ranger, make sure to get a round adapter, not a square one). Electric will give you more clearance, ranger pulls large an amounts of air through rad and also pulls air over engine. Both move much more air then a steel clutch fan

Interesting this came up. Been debating on switching to electric just to try something new.
To the guys that use them are you using an aluminum shroud or just slapping it on the radiator and calling it good?

Ive never ran an electric fan on a derby car, but they do work better with a a shroud of course. But if you want to do it on the cheap, hit up garage sales and Goodwill for cheap baking trays for the cheapest and easiest homemade shroud.

I'd say while your at it go with aluminum rad. I've had it change major on my set up more so I don't bust rad fast. Im going on 4 or 5 years with same rad since I built the new set up and she's been through hell. Even ran once with no guard on it and no problems out of it. A stock one I would of wasted one every heat easily.
