Some folks probably go a little overboard because the other side calls it a hoax and same as the flu.... 🤷🏼♂️ I think with 350,000+ deaths in less than a year and many more people with lasting health effects we can put the “it’s just the flu” idea to rest. Folks on here several months ago pretty well called me an idiot for wanting to take this virus serious.... can we all agree now that this virus is serious? Hopefully it only took a few hundred thousand lives to come to that agreement..... Jives, I'd like to hear how you define "the flu" or other influenza like illness (ILI) to be different from COVID-19.

Damn it, I started this bullshit again....
GF tested positive and I tested negative this morning, so far. She has gotten worse today, spent most of it in bed and says everything hurts. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets.
I have yet to have anything I would really consider a symptom. I've had pretty bad ringing in my ears yesterday and today but from the little bit of research I've done it isn't related?

I didn't think much of it at first. I have it every so often and hearing loss runs real bad on my dad's side of the family. But usually isn't as bad and persistent. I even had trouble getting to sleep last night because of it.

Could always be worse I suppose. I dealt with blisters in my ears for a decade. Then I went the single route. No issues since. .

1. There is some credible videos on Youtube but not sure that would be one of them.
2. I think it is clear there are inaccuracies with the tests and I don't think anyone is really debating that.
3. Like he did say though, it is real. I know because now I am seeing it with my own eyes.
4. I know all the tests aren't the same but I am curious about him saying patients aren't being tested for the flu. The reason I say that is the results my girlfriend got said she was covid positive and negative for A and B flu virus. With that said we may have to refer back to (2).

Jives, I will define my question more: It would seem as though you've defined "the flu" as not having lasting health side effects and not be "serious." Please explain what your threshold is for seriousness and do so in terms of how "the flu" differs from COVID-19?

I have my share of back problems with a seat in one piece. No thanks. If it were down to 1 or 2 cars and something like that happened I'd probably ride it out. That early on, break it off, and live to derby another day.

Im still not even close to your level of "serious" but it is what it is and it will resolve itself in time like everything else human body can adapt to many things unless you let your mind and body go. Just saying. Everyone live your life how you seem fit and DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU HOW TO LIVE YOUR LIFE, including you jives, you have your life and you live it how you see fit. Is it serious yeah it's a concern for some I have yet to follow the "rules" and have had zero symptoms and I travel all over and you can rest your soul that vaccine will never touch me or a single soul in my family blood lines. Absolutely no way. Done son! Let jives say what he wants. Were Americans and have the right to say what we want and we don't have to take everything we see online as a rule and then live our life based on it.
