I’m looking for someone who might have a pic or a little insight on putting a lower cradle in an old iron gm car . I have one and for some reason it seems pretty snug and by snug I mean it’s damn near touching the steering components in front of the oil pan and crossmember. Any pics or Info would be appreciated thanks.

Who makes your cradle? Could be their design.

Who makes your cradle? Could be their design. 1/2” basic lower cradle made by Brian’s Machine shop. Also the pulley protector is almost touching the sway bar. Using stock lower mounts. Center link has been lowered

The factory mounts sit lower and could be worn out

Yeah, you will need to space your lower mounts up. With some plate under them. The factory mounts are like 3/4ish lower than your generic derby motor mounts IIRC.

If its close to centerlink and tie rods that is an issue and usually raising the motor is a fairly easy tweak. It being close to the sway bar is normal and a benefit. If it hits the pulley protector the pulley protector should do its job and that should help keep in front of the a arms down.
