Got a 80 up stock class. Decided I'm gonna take a gm. Curious which you prefer to the kind of rules I'm building to. Many different things could be better then others on these car. An do you prefer a 2 door vs a 4 door if so you. I'm going to put a poll up of the 2dr an 4dr an then the different cars. Didn't put wagon on poll but if you like it over others say so in comments.
••Gonna allow two votes so you got car then 4door, wagon, or 2 door••
Rules
-stock body mounts can't replace if you got broken one can wrap nine wire.(let's just say no all thread shock body mount either).
-any motor & tranny, slider, 5 lug rearend, and drive line brake.
-lower cradle only no other protector.
-2 all thread in hood 4 angle iron. An only 2 all thread in trunk. The 2 all thread in hood an trunk can go through body mount.
-doors can be welded 5 on 5 off.
-4 down tube(front at placed middle of door and halo can go to last body mount inside the car).
-gas tank protector 3 inches off the package tray and 24 inches wide.
-No creasing or forming of frame or body panels.
-bumpers can be stuffed only inside (can't plate the outside).
-factory shock must be used on the car or can hardnose.
-small weld in centers (no full centers).
-can bolt a arms down with 1/2 bolts.
-can cold bend.
●●●should be about a 3 to 5 day build●●●

Me and car185. We're just talking other day only other option that would maybe be better is the bubble fleetwood if you can find one. Other than that 77-9 2 door caddy everytime. Or 80/81 2dr

Why a 2 door over a 4 door? Besides the fact everyone things a 2 door looks cool. An ya If I knew I could find a bubble Fleetwood I would if put it on there but I don't see them very much.

Look at the inner panels off the 2 doors behind the doors especially on the 80-81. 2 doors you can run cage further back. Less doors to weld. More pillar to work with and in my experiences the 2 doors seem stiffer under the doors. Ive ran lots of both. I always prefer the 2 doors. For what ever reasons seems like the backs roll and pack better than A 4 door

Ya I've never looked at a 2 door. We got few I'll check out. Most answers I get is because they look cool on the track. I know car185 loves his two doors of all 77 up gm. I was just looking a caddy has the 2 extra body mounts. Then wagons got better rear archs I think plus are boxed frame in center.

They always seem to be stouter in the back, especially in the dog leg in front of the humps. I contribute a lot of it to the larger pillars unless you’re running a 77-79 Lesabre or Pontiac, they have small pillars and a large quarter window.

So was looking at the 2 doors today an I see what you guys are talking about. But the down tube rule on a 2 door makes down tube sit about a feet back from a 4 door. Rule states down tube can be welded to frame but must be center of the door.

No nine wire in the car. An the cross member must bolt in factory style. it can bolt on factory style just press it against the floor then the 2 spots closest to the floor run a bolt thru crossmember up thru floor then cover it with battery box and seat. Without 9 wire it wont help as much but its something extra ateast

I'm sorry but i'd take a ford for any stock body mount, any drive train show. If i have to vote i'd take a parisienne wagon or chevy wagon or 77-78 buick limited or olds 98.
