So what's everyone's thought on the best 1980 and newer full size for a basically stock show no welding no swapping nothing just stock.

77 up gm. I'd take any of the full size to a true bone stock show vs true bone stock fords.

Around here they consider 77-79 novas to be 80+ and they should allow pinch frame mopars such as 76+ dobas but anyway. If your promoter isn't well known for there knowledge id take an R body mopar and put s roscoe fury front bumper on and go play. R body will hold there own against ford and gm. My pick would be that or 77+ caddy with a 77 monte front bumper or 77/79 niva front bumper

Even though ive seen quite a few box caprices and 77+ caddys run with the aluminium front bumper and by golly they were not bad at all and actually stayed on the cars. But I'm still on for 79-81 R body mopar

There was a post on this not too long ago. Whatever you can get running, and keep running that isn't a rotbox. 4.6 is hard to beat once you figure them out compared to say a 307 or 5.0 if its a windshield car.
I primarily run bubble fomoco, but would run a big frame GM if they were cheap/clean here.

Like Owen said too. I think a big mopar or even a dippy with a 318 set up right would be a good one...

Found out bumpers can be swapped and so can engines as long as it's from the same family. Have a 1983 caddy Fleetwood that I picked up the other day in good shape. So far it looks like that's what I'm going to go with unless I come across another good deal.

that would be the one to take since you can swap to chevy and bumpers.

I have never seen humps bend in so many places like this one did. granted it was for a bone stock heat, only thing aloud was front bumper swap, weld up front suspension. car #137 maroon youtu.be/7xwQS4AOsLc

Cutting relief cuts in the sheet metal and and some hammer work on the humps stop them from plowing.
