Body/Cage/Bumpers/Frame - 9. Internal safety cage is required and will be limited to a specific area. They may be installed from base of front windshield to 18 inches behind front seat. Four vertical down tubes are allowed. These can be welded to flat part of frame rail or sheet metal, and they cannot act as kickers to prevent the car from bending. Gas tank protectors are allowed, however they cannot be attached to frame, package tray, or interior sheet metal. There should be at least 1” of clearance between tank protector and sheet metal/frame. Tank protectors can be mounted off of rear seat bar or as a separate “third bar”. Third bar cannot attach to frame or cage. Rollover bar is RECOMMENDED. It must be located within cage specific area and may only attach to cage or floor in two locations. It cannot attach to both floor and cage. 10. All cars should have either a bar, wire, chain, etc. running from roof to dashboard to protect driver/rider. This bar cannot contact distributor protector or cage. 11. Back window bar may be installed. No more than 4 inch channel may be used and can only attach to sheet metal. Plates no bigger than 6" x 1/4" may be used to secure bar to sheet metal. Bottom of bar must attach inside of drip edge in back glass. Top of bar cannot extend forward of rear window opening. 12. Any OEM stock automobile bumper may be bolted and/or welded to the shock canister or stock bumper brackets. Amounts of bolts or welds may not exceed typical stock installation. Bumper can also be “hardnosed” to frame if competitor chooses to NOT use bumper brackets or shock canisters, however no added metal can be used for this. Bumper seams CAN be welded, and bumpers CAN be reinforced between frame mounts. No added metal outside of frame mounts. External body seam welding zone will run from 6 inches in front of door to rear axle center line. No interior seam welding is allowed. 14. These MUST be mounted outboard of the radiator IN STOCK LOCATION. Core support mounts cannot be relocated. An additional four pieces of 3/4" all thread or bolts may be used to secure hood to fenders or four pieces of wire or cable. A-arms may not be reinforced or boxed in to frame. Tie rods can be reinforced, however tie rod ends must be OEM parts for passenger car. Aftermarket steering columns are allowed. Front and rear bumper heights must measure 16”-22” from level ground. Stiffness of the suspension will be left to the discretion of the driver. SOLID SUSPENSIONS CANNOT BE USED TO REINFORCE FRAME IN FRONT OR REAR. (Do not box and weld A-arms to frames. Do not triangulate rear suspensions to rearend housings.)
