for sure repair the rust if rules let ya. rear b.o.p bumper brackets are the $hit welded to outside of frame to hang a front bumper.these rear bracket go darn near to shock/spring tower. you mention front brakes ? do not run fronts sooner or later they will get locked up/bent rim hitting. what motor you running ? Please go forward.lol I have seen so many guys use the rear and waste a good car. use a hard a$$ bumper on the nose. this mopar "v" only lasted 3 hard runs. Are those brackets and shocks I have rear bop? For the life of me I can't remember what I took them off of, I've built a few old iron gms. I run a brake on the front driver side, along with rears,it works well for me at the shows I run at. I've ran ls's the past 7 years, the last 3 of which have been a 6.0 that I cooked lol. Gonna try a 4.8 in this and see how I like it. I've got a fresh pointy ready to be seam welded and mounted 😎. Appreciate the feedback!

your brackets are not what i'm talking about. i have only seen them once run on a Lincoln by a friend.was told they were rear bracket off a b.o.p 225 or 98. but they are double the length and width what you have. you go to drop motor in you may have issue's with center link in the way.do not cut firewall for clearance, drop the entire center link then sit motor in.i used chevy 350 oil pan would not clear steering.i drop entire center link and it fell right in. had to made new brackets/extend pitman arm/idler arm.very simple to do,square plate and nut n bolt that's it to fix.

sorry, just found this thread. I hope you havent already used the bop brackets, shocker mopar along the engine side of the rail with the oem angle iron of the shock tube rotated to brace against the curve is far stronger. The frame really wont bend if you have this setup, it will try to belly where the curved half pipe area for exhaust pipe clearance on the bottom of the unibody. I would fix the rust but I wouldnt let it worry you, have had some the same way and they were fine. Your 70s a arms are very good choice. Consider trying a cross link steering system like a 70s gm blazer etc, works very well, easy and gives engine clearance.

RIP my friend !!!

Was looking through the pics an why didnt you bring the a arm straps out to help enforce the sub frame? Make them as long as you can to get more weld on the frame an if rules say 2 straps per a arm you bring 2 from the lower also so you'd have 4 per side.

I'm not allowed any straps on the a-arms, which is why I made what I used so small and so hidden. The balljoint area of the uppers are welded down really good on the inside and back side, there's a lot of work that's been done which isn't visible in the pics or very hard to see I don't think I'll have to worry about it bending crossmember forward regardless of what I do...
