What are the pros and cons of each rear end? I have one of each sitting in my yard, just trying to decide what way to go.

What F250 rear are you speaking of. A Sterling 10.5 from a Superduty, 10.25 from a 85-97, or a Dana 60 or 70 in a 84 or older truck?

Theres a bigger and much cheaper aftermarket life for the 14 bolt. You wont find much for a sterling 10.25 or 10.5. You'll also snap a pinion or shear the spiders on the sterling before you hurt the 14 bolt in any way. I've run the sterlings, in fact I still run them, but I will always choose the 14 bolt over them. I have both though.

What is the smallest rim I can fit on a 2006 superduty rear? I can't use a pinion brake so I have to leave the brakes on it. I have a 14 bolt that is buried in the snow so I can't measure it. Will it fit without any modifications? It will fit a 15" rim. Correct?

The 14 bolt fitting all depends on what it came out of. Theres a few different widths and whatnot. The smallest you can go on the ford rear is probably a 16.

The 14 bolt came out of a square body. I guess I will have to dig it out and get some measurements. I also need a box. It's a 6'6". Is there any others that fit reasonably well or should I look for another superduty?
