Each Driver must fill out an entry sheet 2. Derby officials may reject any and all entries 3. All drivers, mechanics, pit crew, etc. are required to sign a release a Waiver of Liability Indemnity Agreement the day of the show at the sign-in counter. No refunds of entry money. 4. No alcohol in the pit area 5. No reckless driving in the pits 6. All drivers must be 16 years of age or older. Drivers under 18 years of age must have parents or guardians sign a minor waiver and release form. 7. Any driver/crew member disobeying the rules will cause his/her car to be disqualified. 8. The decisions of the judges and derby officials are final. ***General Rules and Regulations*** 1. All vehicles to remain stock unless otherwise stated 2. All flammable material must be removed prior to inspection 3. Stock gas tanks must be removed and replaced with a boat style tank or fuel cell. (No gas cans or plastic tanks) 4. Battery must be relocated to front passenger floor board, secured and covered. 5. Seat belts required in all classes 6. Radiator must remain in stock location 7. Numbers must be on both front doors and a roof number is required. If we cant see your number, we cant score you.
8. All glass mirrors and trim must be removed prior to inspection (Car must be swept clean) 9. Trailer hitches must be removed 10. No undercoating or painting on the frame allowed 11. Absolutely no drivers door hits. If it is determined to be an intentional hit, you will be disqualified. 12. Sandbagging will not be allowed. You must make an aggressive hit every 60 seconds or risk being disqualified. No exceptions 13. If you have a fire and restart you may continue. Second fire and you are out. Limited weld Body 1. Any station wagon or sedan is allowed except ambulances, hearses, and imperials 2. Body shaping and creasing is allowed. 3. Hoods may be secured with 2 pieces of all thread no larger than 1” in diameter and 4 loops of #9 wire or chain( no larger than 3/8) or 4 bolts no larger than 1/2” diameter. Any washers used may not exceed 1/4” thick and 6” square. Washers must be free floating (no welds) Spacers used on all thread must not exceed 2” square tubing and must start and stop from top of factory core support mount and bottom of core support. Spacers can NOT be welded in place in anyway. 4. You may change up to 4 body bolts of your choice. They may be replaced with up to 1/2” bolts and washers no larger then 4” x 4” square 1/4” thick max. Body bolts changed must maintain at least 1” space between body and frame. No spacers used may be welded to frame or body in any way inside or out. Threaded rod in hood and trunk lid will not be counted as your replaced body bolts. All other body bolts must remain stock and unaltered in any way. Broken or rusted body mounts can be repaired with no more the 2 loops of 9 wire. 5. Trunk lid an tailgate may be secured with 2 pieces of all thread up to 1” in diameter. All thread may go through a factory body mount, or you may make a hole in a different location and run all thread through the frame, or you may weld all thread to side of frame vertically. Choose one way to mount all thread. On station wagons all thread may run through pillar or roof. All thread must be mounted between rear body bolt behind hump and end of rear frame rail. Along with the all thread you may choose 2 of the following: use 4 loops of #9 wire or 4 loops of chain (3/8 max) or 4 bolts up to 1/2” diameter or 4 welded plates 3in by 3in max 1/4in thick. All washers used must not exceed 6” square or 1/4” thick. 6. Windshield bar in front window in mandatory. Can be #9 wire, 3/8 chain, up to 1” round bar, or flat stock no larger the 3” wide and 3/8 thick. You may not exceed 2 windshield bars. All bars may have a 6”x6” mounting plate on fire wall and on roof. May be bolted or welded but must be 6” apart and can not exceed four 1/2” bolts per window bar. May not connect to cage in any way 7. A single rear window bar is allowed may not exceed 2”x2” square tubing 1/4” thick max and can have a 6” square mounting plate at each end 1/4” thick max. Bar must mount at edge of rear window top and bottom with a max of eight 1/2” bolts to sheet metal only, or welded to sheet metal only. Choose only one Must be 8” away from any cage component 8. All doors may be welded solid outer seam only 3” wide max. Door plate on drivers door permitted. 9. You can have up to 2 loops of #9 wire per window opening from frame to roof. 10. Hood must have two holes one on each side of carb. Trunk must have two 6” inspection holes. Inspection holes must be above frame rails. These holes in hood and trunk may have up to eight 3/8” bolts per hole with 1 1/2” washer max diameter Frame 1. No welding on frame other then stated in rules. No painting or undercoating of frame. If you are found to have violated this rule it may result in automatic disqualification. NO restubbing of frames allowed! 2. Any bumper may be used on any car. Home made bumpers are allowed but must not exceed 9”x9”. Loading or plating of bumpers is permitted. 3. You can use one 2”x6” plate up to 1⁄4” thick max at each bumper
mounting location to help hold bumper on. Plate must be attached to bumper. 4. Front frame may be shortened but factory body mount may not be moved and must be utilized for all thread mounting location. 5. Bumpers may be mounted using an OEM bumper shock for make and model car. Shocks must be mounted in factory manor. If you choose not to use bumper shocks you may hardnose your bumpers. 6. Any OEM trans cross member may be used in any car or you can use 2”x2” square tubing 1/4” thick max. cross member may be mounted using 3”x3” angle iron 6” long no thicker than 1/4” welded to frame. Crossmember must be mounted within 8in of factory mouting location on side rail. If using 2in by 2in tubing it must go straight across from rail to rail. 7. Watts conversion may be used on 98 and newer fords. All components must not exceed 1/4” thick. Lower mounts may be welded but are limited to 4”x4” area Upper mounts must be bolted with no more than 10 bolts total up to 1/2” diameter no welds. Maximum upper plates size 6” X 10”. 8. Notching, and pre bending of frame is permitted. No welding of notches. Frame shaping is allowed but is limited to 10” each way of rear hump centerline and A-arms forward on front of rail. 9. All cars fresh or prerun will be allowed 2- 4”X 6” plates 1/4” max per frame rail totalling 4 plates per car. Plates may be used any place of your choosing but there must be a minimum of 4” between plates. Plates can be bent or formed to fit the area they are put, but you can NOT cut them into smaller plates. Steering and suspension 1. All steering and suspension must remain stock unless otherwise stated in rules. 2. A-arms and spindles are interchangeable but must be mounted in factory manor using factory mounts and hardware. No fabricated spindles. 3. No spring spacers on top of springs allowed No after market tight coil springs allowed OEM springs and shocks only. 4. You are allowed one (1) 2”x2” 1/4” thick plate to weld down your
upper A-arms per side(this means one 2x2 plate per A-arm, total of two 2x2 plates per car). Or one (1⁄2) bolt per side with no welds two 3” washers max. If you use the 2”x2” plates you can use them any way you want but welds must not exceed the amount of plate you are allowed. If you weld any more than you are allowed you will have to remove all welds and run working suspension No welding to or on lower a-arms is permitted. 5. All rear control arms must be OEM parts and use factory mounts and hardware. No welding to or on rear control arms. 6. All ball joints and tie rods must be OEM or replacement Tierods may be welded or replaced with aftermarket but no heims allowed. 7. Aftermarket steering columns are permitted. Must use OEM style steering box. Cage and Cage components 1. 4 point cage is allowed. Side Bars can be a max of 65” long. Dash and back seat bar cannot be contoured and must be straight across car. Cage must be 8” off floor sheet metal. Cage components can only be welded to sheet metal unless otherwise stated in rules.Shifter bar and corner gussets within the 4 point cage will be permitted. 2. Dash bar must be 4” from fire wall behing engine. 3. Back seat bar must be within 6” of back of drivers seat 4. You are allowed a 32” wide gas tank protector. Can not be welded or bolted to body or frame in any way. 5. Rollover bar can not exceed 6” tubing and must be within 6” of B pillar. Rollover bar may be bolted or welded to roof or B pillar in 4 spots. 1/2” bolts max or 3” welds. 6. You are allowed 2 down tubes per side. Down tubes must be 6” away from any body mount. Down tube can be welded to top of frame only not down either side and must be mounted between front Z box body mount and rear body mount before rear hump. Down tubes may not exceed 6” wide. Down tubes must be vertical not angled, no kickers allowed. A inner plate from down tube to down tube for safety is permitted but can not exceed 1/4” thick and can only be welded to down tubes and side bars. Inner plate must be at least 1” off floor sheet metal.
7. All cage components must be inside of car. Cage components must be located between firewall and centerline of rear axle and cannot connect to frame in any way unless otherwise stated in the cage rules. Motor/Trans and drive lines 1. Any motor and trans can be used in any car. Engine must be mounted within 6” of stock location. You can use 2 pieces of chain to help hold motors in 3/8 chain max. The chain can be welded to factory engine crossmember only not to frame. 2 links max welded per chain. Engine must mount in factory manor. Mounts can be reinforced but must contain rubber bushings. 2. Any rear end may be used in any car but must use OEM mounts and hardware. Any bracing on rear end must not exceed 6” from factory housing and can not connect to frame in any way. You can use one loop of chain (3/8” max) or #9 wire from rear end around frame to help hold rear end in. No welds on chain. 3. Brakes must work before start of derby. Pinion brake is permitted. 4. Any driveshaft can be used. Sliders are permitted. 5. Any tire or wheel combination is allowed. No split rims and no rims only (must use a rubber tire) 6. Engine cradle permitted. No fan protector/steel shroud. If you use a carb halo it may not extend past center of carb on engine. No distributer protectors allowed. Trans braces and aftermarket bellhousings and tailshafts permitted. If trans brace is used it must maintain 1” space on all side of crossmember. 7. Aftermarket parts that are allowed other than previously stated in rules include shifters, pedals (single or combo), trans cooler, switch panel, headers 8. OEM style radiator may be used only(aluminum radiators permitted). No fabricated radiators or water tanks. You are allowed a piece of expanded metal or guard not to exceed 1/4” thick in front of core support from one core support mount to the other. Guard can be mounted using 4 bolts max of 1/2” diameter with 2” washers or instead of bolts you can use 4 welds 2” long. 9. No engine oil coolers allowed. 10. Transmissions lines must be hi-pressure or steel braided lines. 11. Transmissions coolers are allowed but must be securely located
inside of driver's compartment. Fuel Tanks: 1. No plastic gas tanks allowed. 2. Fuel tanks must be securely mounted in rear passenger seat area. Must be covered. 3. Fuel lines must run through inside of vehicle cant run next to frame. 4. Electric fuel pumps are allowed, but ON/OFF switch must be clearly marked and easily reached from outside of vehicle. Compact Cars: 1. No 4x4 or all wheel drive cars allowed 2. Maximum allowable wheelbase is 106” per factory specifications. 3. Anti-freeze and A/C coolant must be removed. 4. Stock gas tanks must be removed, but may be used for fuel-injected cars if properly mounted and secured in rear passenger area. Tank must be covered. No plastic tanks allowed. 5. Electric fuel pump may be used, but must have ON/OFF switch clearly marked and accessible. 6. Battery must be relocated to passenger side floorboard and securely mounted. 7. Floor shifter is allowed. 8. Ignition switches are allowed 9. Hood must have minimum of 12” opening to extinguish fires 10. No welding on frames, no stuffing or filling of frames 11. NO mid-size cars allowed in this class pre-run or fresh (i.e. Lumina/Grand Prix etc) If you are not sure call first. 12. Doors may be welded/wired or chained shut 13. Firewall/Floor pan may be trimmed to allow shifter/gas pedal within reason 14. Hoods & trunk lids may be wired or bolted shut after inspection. All bolts must be sheet metal to sheet metal only except core support bolts which may be changed to 3/4” threaded rod. Washers may be 3” maximum. 15. No altering of body mounts in anyway. Body mount biscuits must remain in place.
16. No altering of A-arms, ball joints, steering or trailing arms. 17. Bumpers & Brackets may be changed but must stay in stock locations 18. Bumpers must be bolted, wired or welded on. We don't want to pick them up. 19. Bumpers may be reinforced on inside only. 20. Dash bar and seat bar are allowed for safety. Bars may be connected with 1 door bar on each side with 2 down tubes per side connected to sheet metal only. 21. Windshield Bar/ Chain is mandatory. Rear window chain is optional. 22. Radiator must be in stock location. 23. Any tire & rim may be used but must be DOT approved. Street Stock Class 1. Any wagon or sedan is allowed from 1950-2010 with the exception of Ambulances, hearses, and Imperials. 2. This class is intended to be bare bone stock. Should take no longer than a weekend to build. 3. Anti-freeze and A/C coolant must be removed 4. Stock gas tanks must be removed, but may be used for fuel injected cars if properly mounted and secured in rear passenger area. Tank must be covered. No plastic tanks allowed. 5. Electric fuel pump may be used, but must have ON/OFF switch clearly marked and accessible 6. Hood must have minimum of 12” opening to extinguish fires. 7. Motor must remain stock to that vehicle, no engine swaps 8. Transmissions must remain stock to that vehicle 9. Rear end must remain stock to that vehicle 10. All glass and interior panels must be removed, however the instrument panel may remain in place 11. Absolutely no aftermarket parts allowed 12. Battery must be moved to the interior floorboard of the vehicle 13. A 4-point cage is allowed for safety purposes only. Rear bar must be located directly behind the drivers seat. Again this is intended for safety purposes, don't push it.
14. Absolutely no welding on any door, hood or trunk lid seams. 15. Doors, trunk lids& hoods must be wired or chained shut 16. Hood and trunk can be wired or chained in 4 places, however it must be installed after inspection 17. Tires need to be street tires only 18. Rearend gears may be welded, no aftermarket lockers can be installed 19. Bumpers must be stock to the vehicle 20. Bumpers may be wired or chained 21. Must be two bars, chain or wire covering the windshield opening for safety purposes 22. Absolutely no body creasing or dimpling 23. If it does not pass the aforementioned rules, you will be moved up to the next class ***Racing Regulations*** 1. All drivers must wear a helmet ( full face recommended) 2. Fire extinguishers are recommended but not required 3. All drivers must attend drivers meeting 4. If for any reason you are black flagged, you must break your stick, shut off the car and remain in your car until the contest is over 5. Last car moving under its own power and making contact will be declared he winner 6. Team class will run heats, consi, and feature event. 7. Compacts and street stock will be one and done. 8. Pay Outs 1. Limited Weld 1st place $3,000 2nd place $2000 3rd place $1000 4th place $500 5th place $250 2. Compact 1st place $1200 2nd place $700 3rd place $400 4th place $200 5th place $100 3. Street Stock 1st place $700 2nd place $500 3rd place $300 4th place $200 5th place $100 Compact and Street Stock will have a $100 Bonus for hardest hitter. There will be $50 award to the best looking car. 9. Entry Fee limited weld pre-register $50.00 per driver 30 car max Compact/street stock enter day of show $35.00 per driver Pit passes $25.00 per person Entrys limited to 1 entry per person per class Rules Clarified 1. If it doesn't say you can, YOU CANT 2. If you don't think we will find it, WE WILL 3. Cannot exceed plates allowed in rules. 4. Officials interpretation of the rules is the way they will be enforced. If you are not sure than ask. Draw a picture so we can understand. Officials decisions are final. 5. The fee paid for each driver is an inspection fee. This said fee will allow your car to come through the tech line to be inspected 2 times. If you are unable to get your car to the pass all listed rules and receive your stick to compete after your second time through you may be subject to an additional inspection fee. All cars participating in the derby must be removed from the fairground after the event and before midnight on the day of the show. Failure to do this will result in car becoming property of the local.
