Small Car!!
Any FWD unibody car 6 cyl or less, or RWD 109" and under (NO FULL FRAME CARS)
General Building:
· MUST have a helmet and eye protection
· Must have functioning seatbelts (lap belt only is permitted but we will check to be sure it fastens)
· Long pants, shirt and sturdy shoes required
· 4wd vehicles must remove one drive shaft
· Vehicle must enter the track each time with functioning brakes
· MUST have a roof sign Vehicle Preparation
· MUST Remove all exterior lighting, trim, plastic moldings, chrome, antennas, hub caps, mirrors, ANYTHING that may break or fall off during competition
· Trailer hitches MUST be removed
· MUST Remove all interior carpeting, headliner, rear seats, plastic trim, all glass MUST be removed, dash MAY stay in or be removed
· ALL DEBRIS MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE THIS WILL BE ENFORCED TO PASS TECH. PLEASE REMOVE ALL NUTS, BOLTS, BROKEN GLASS, AND RANDOM PBR CANS FROM YOUR VEHICLE. TRYING TO KEEP THE TRACK AS CLEAN OF SMALL DEBRIS AS POSSIBLE, THANK YOU!
· Stock gas tank MUST be removed.
· Max 12 gallon steel tank to be placed in back seat area, securely fastened, or off of rear seat bar (details under cage section)
· Fuel lines must be run through the firewall with steel tubing or thick rubber hose minimum where the line passes through the firewall. BE SMART WITH HOSE CLAMPS
· Electric Fuel pump MUST have a clearly marked ON/OFF switch
· Up to 2 Automotive batteries may be used and are to be located in the passenger front floor area and must be well secured
· Hood MUST have a minimum of 12"x12" hole for fire access
· Must have 2 steel straps, rods or chains running from roof to windshield opening area for drivers protection. This is NOT to add any reinforcement.
· MAY use aftermarket shifters and pedals.
· Radiator must remain in stock location or be removed (no radibarrels)
· ANY PLY tires allowed up to 30" tall, doubled or tubed is allowed, AIR ONLY
· Solid rear forklift type tires may be used.
Drivetrain:
· Any 6 cylinder or less engine permitted, stock rear end and components to vehicle
· Motor mounts must remain stock and must not be strengthened, braced, or altered in any way.
· Rear end gears may be welded for posi trac but no bracing or welding to the housing of any kind
· Headers are permitted
· No carb conversions.
· No Slider drive shafts
· No bracing or reinforcement in any way. This includes engine cradles, Trans braces, distributor protectors, pulley protectors etc. Keep the drive train stock!
Hood:
· HOOD MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION!!!!
· May have up to 6 hold downs TOTAL. Front 2 MAY be threaded rod 1" max diameter. The other 4 MUST be wire (3 passes max), Chain (2 passes Max), 3”Angle Iron with one bolt or seatbelts passing though sheet metal only
· Threaded rod must be vertical (no bends) and may pass through unibody frame and through FACTORY sub frame mounts. DO NOT WELD ROD TO FRAME IF using factory sub frame location. BOLT only
· If the vehicle does not have a sub frame or you are not passing through it with the threaded rod you MAY weld the threaded rod to the UNIBODY FRAME only, and no farther back than the factory upper core support
· 5x5 max plates on rod
· Trunk may have up to 4 hold downs, 2 may be threaded rod 1"max. Other 2 chain, wire 3” angle, or seatbelts (same pass rules as hood) 2 may go to the frame
· Trunk may be tucked with 50% remaining in the stock location.
· NO Dish/U/Canoeing of trunk
· NON SUBFRAME COMPACT CARS ARE ALLOWD TWO ADDITIONAL RODS TO FRAME WITHIN THE 6 HOLD DOWN RULE ABOVE.
Body and Frame:
· Aside from patch rule DO NOT weld on unibody/sub-frame for any reason other than is listed as allowed.
· Rear sub-frame bolts must remain stock and unaltered
· Rear trailing arms must remain stock and unaltered.
· Body creasing is not allowed
· You may notch and pre bend rear frame to assist it going up
· Rear window bar allowed to speaker deck only 2"x2" max material and 4"x4" max plates to mount
· PATCH RULE, you will be allowed up to two 4x4x1/4" plates per VEHICLE, NOT PER SIDE. These MUST be in an area where a previous bend can be seen clearly!! NON SUBFRAME COMPACT CARS ARE ALLOWD A TOTAL OF 4 PLATES PER VEHICLE
· NO Stuffing, filling, or altering the sub-frame or unibody frame in any way.
· Fenders may be trimmed for clearance and bolted in 6 places max
Doors
· Driver's door MAY be welded solid
· Other doors may be welded 5"on and 5" off with 3"wide plates MAX
· May also use chains or #9 wire in 2 places per door seam (nothing to frame) 2 passes per chain, 3 passes per #9 wire location
Bumpers:
· ANY automotive bumper may be used aside from Chrysler V bumpers
· Bumpers MAY NOT be stuffed or loaded but can be seam welded
· Bumpers may be mounted by bolting or welding
· In place of an automotive bumper you may use FLAT steel tubing up to 2x6x 1/4" thick no wider than the front of the vehicle (tire to tire) (4x4x1/4 is legal) ends must be open. Do not add steel or create a point in anyway. You are allowed to weld a chrome skin over the flat tube for cool guy points. This should create a softer area of the bumper (This does not mean you can modify the chrome skin to make a big pointy bumper on your steel tube! Be smart)
· You are allowed 6" per side extra material to Frame to mount bumper. Plate to outside of frame or tubing within frame is permitted as long as it stays to 6” or less
· Front 2 threaded rod may pass through extra 6” of material
· Front frame MAY be cut back no farther than factory core support location prior to mounting bumper
· ALLOWED AND HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED 2 lengths of chain or #9 wire running from bumper to upper core support only. This is to hold the bumper in the event it comes loose, not to strengthen the car. 1 pass chain, 2 pass #9 wire, don't get creative here
· Rear bumper must be stock or removed or same tube rule as front bumper NO POINTS
Interior Protection:
· All tubing no larger than 6" diameter
· Must have at minimum rear seat bar
· 4 point cage is permitted consisting of 1 bar behind the seat, a dash bar and 2 door bars connecting them. You may run a halo bar off of rear seat bar and bolt to roof in two places.
· Door bars may not run farther back than 6" behind door post
· Gas tank protector is permitted no wider than 24" MUST be at least 4" off the floor and 8" from rear sheet metal.. THIS IS FOR PROTECTION NOT REINFORCEMENT.
Steering & Suspension:
· Front suspension must remain stock with stock bounce. Do not modify struts. NON SUBFRAME CARS ARE ALLOUD TO CLAMP SPRINGS TO GAIN HEIGHT. Full sub-frame cars do not modify the strut or spring in anyway.
· Tie rods may be reinforced with angle iron but ends MUST remain stock
· No Leaf Spring Conversions
· 21” max to bottom of front bumper
