A aluminum bell is ok,since a couple guys plan on running the factory 3spd manuals. They came with cast bell housings from factory along with automatic transmissions...Now if a person shows up with a steel bellhousing or any home made tranny braces, you will loose your entry and be told to load. This derby will be fair to everyone involved or you simply won't participate.Thank you for all the interest in the "Old School classic" fullsize class.

I love the idea of bone stock, just wish we could put a dent bumper on the front. A lot of these early cars have c chanel over humps and you cant run them if you can't go forward. I want to bring up a 58 Chrysler but it doesn't have a bumper.

There are several other places that allow front bumper swaps for there demolition derby.Years ago people never even thought about swapping front bumpers from factory, you ran what vehicle came with from the factory. This was before the superior good 1974-78 front bumpers came into play.As a inspector and SO-called promoter this was best way to get everyone from a rookie to a derby icon all on same page.Alot of the hassle in the inspection anymore is how the front bumper is mounted or how rules are wrote, this will eliminate that headache...thanks for your interest

We already have over 10 pre entries for the "Old School Classic" 1972 and older fullsize heat, not to bad for over 5 months till derby day...So as of right now 1st place is $3,000,2nd is $1,250,3rd is $1,000,4rth is $500,5th place is $250 guaranteed. This don't include bonus money for the "Hard Hitters" in this class.I have a list of over 20 more names interested in competing in this class, but untill money is in my hand I'm not counting them as a sure thing like some places. As always the more entries per class, the more we pay back to the drivers of that class...Stay tuned

I understand what your saying though. Now if I find a bolt on style front bumper can I compete? I have a early 70s GM bumper that I am not sure what it came off of but I know it is not a shock bumper as it has bolt on brackets. Think it is a monte carlo. And no it isn't the good 74 up bumpers. Question I guess is if I get a bumper from the era that fits the rules?

Front bumper has to match make, model and year...If I allowed different makes of bumpers and years kinda defeats purpose of this class...

Front bumper has to match make, model and year...If I allowed different makes of bumpers and years kinda defeats purpose of this class... I don't think it does at all but I am not running the show. I think that with a bumper that fits the era of the rules it shouldn't really matter, all be it I think a bumper swap and welded on is better anyway because it allows people to use both ends. I get you are trying to make this like the old days but with a car in my case that is 61 years old some stuff is going to be missing and some things have to be replaced or fixed. But you know I respect the hell out of you as I have gotten advice over the years and its your show so you'll run it how you want. I will just run it elsewhere I suppose or try and keep an eye out for a different car to bring up.
