Many things can be done to add strength to your car. Will you be racing or running it in a derby? Also what are your rules for this car and class, that will make a huge difference in building.

So I have a question about compact bumpers. I have a 2007 cobalt that I plan to run in a bone stock compact derby. I have done the best I could to prepare the front, move some wiring, zip ties the computer components to the engine out of the way, Unplugged the coolant temp sensor and got another plugged it in to the new one and zip tied it away to help prevent mode limp mode. But being as it’s a bone stock derby I’m limited, no welding other than drivers door and cage, limited on bumpers, but can chain/9wire hood in 4 spots... The factory bumper has a decent curve but doesn’t seem very strong and I think the car’s main weakness is the front aluminum spindles. So is there any bumper that is stronger/longer that would be easy to bolt on or could drill out and bolt on to help protect against tire shots?? Attachments:
