Why does it have two of what appears to be headlamp dimmer switches on the floor? Never seen a car with two switches. Is one for the headlamp doors or something? Makes no real sense but it's a Mopar, so Im confused.

yup i'm serious lol. My guess it was a option being not all mopars have it. My 75 & 76 imperial, both 74 newports, 74,5,6, and 7 new yorker had them. Usually don't work but that's what they are. lincolns and cadillacs also had them.

Another Newyorker Question:
Is there any way to tell the difference visually between a 76-77-78 Yorker? I can't see any differences between these years.... not that it really matters, i just want to know if there is a way to tell.

Stromi 121, does it still have that radio? And would you want to part with the switch?

Stromi 121, does it still have that radio? And would you want to part with the switch? I would have given them both to you for cost of shipping. I threw them in the scrap pile along with a mint interior. I have another shocker in the field. I will look to see if it has one next time Im out there.

I have folks who'd give good $ for interior pieces. Oh well, thanks for checking ahead of time

Sorry. Just another derby car to me. The other one I have is pretty clean too. It has tan interior with white pillow top seats. All junk to me.

I don’t think this is worth starting a new thread but can these cars hold their own against 74-76 gms ? Pretty stock rules just motor an bumper swaps. all you ever see is impalas and fords. I can’t remember the last time I saw one win a good size show, is it just because there’s not many left? They do look badass on the track Honestly i think the 71-73 gm's have an upper hand when only allowed bumper swaps because they throw the brackets away and hardnose a 456 bumper on, even shorten the frame a bit and it usually gets through tec. but the 456 gm's not so easy to manipulate in the same manor. a shortened shocker frame never gets past tec. In my opinion a 74-78 mopar vs a 456 chevy with stockishly Kindatype Rules.... the mopar rear should hold up better (IBR) than the chevy, the front ends are pretty much equal, just comes down to the guy in the driver seat to make or break these cars at that point I think.

I can relate to this, I have ran several cars now that look and run better than my daily drivers. People like to give me crap about a worn out truck with old tires when I have a car being built with new tires, fresh fluids and lower miles..haha love it.
