There's too many variables to be able to answer your question. What gaskets are blown? Im guessing head gaskets? Are you just wanting the shell or are you planning on fixing and running that engine? Not sure what your plans were with it but if we set the engine aside and focus on the car itself it is a ok car for a stock/wire class county fair type derby.

$700 seems a bit steep for a metric GM with engine issues. I'm assuming by 5.0, you/they mean the 301, which is a dog of an engine. I derbied one and had one in a driver. 0-60 in 3 days. The one I derbied never got hot though. Look out for the "floorboard delete package" - a lot of metric GM's like to suffer floorboard rot. Just be sure you can fix it. Might not be a bad car for under $500.
/in before modmins move to GM section.

Start here. www.we-crash.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gm&action=display&thread=14173And I know geographical location plays a huge part in determining fair market value. However that's a $200-300 car around here. That's if it has a BIA axle. And trying to figure out what is a good car depends greatly on your rules, the inspectors, your budget, your building abilities, and what you are running against.
