At that time, before kids that were old enough to tag along it was about a 3am start and I’d just go up and back. I’d be back before lunch so I still had half my day but now things just don’t work out quite like that.
I’ve always wanted to haul to Greeley because I’ve heard they will sell stuff out of their yard but I can’t justify taking a day off work just to hit that up. I just wish JB was still open, they spoiled me.

Took a load in a couple weeks ago. $150 a ton in Kewanee IL.
Anybody heard anything as far as what scrap prices will do with the tax/tariff on imported steel and aluminum?

I haven’t heard anyone speculate on anything other than consumer purchases on steel or aluminum. One would assume though that this tariff would create a shortage in the US and drive the price up somewhat.

It seems like it's going to be a nothing burger. Looks like we're going the have tariffs on steel and aluminum, except for the people we buy steel and aluminum from... Can't wait til we get rid of this guy... Care to bet? Don't want to make it a political debate, but I'll lay odds that Trump's economy equals at least $200 scrap iron by Nov 2020, even out here in no man's land. We're 130 & slowly climbing.

Well I hope that jackass isn't around in 2020, but I would not take that bet. It is completely reasonable to think that steel could go up $70 in over two years... I’ll take that jackass over what we had in Obama or Oprah in 2020.

Can't wait til we get rid of this guy... I don't want to make it a political debate That train allready left the station. I have been a registered voter since I was old enough to vote. I have intentionally never voted just to screw with the polls. The first time in my life that I ever voted was my single vote for Trump. I personally think he is out of his mind. But he keeps his hand out of my paycheck. Obamma care made me pay $600 a year because I wasn't lazy or entitled enough to qualify for a handout. I paid $600 penalty a year because I couldn't afford $400 a month for health care. Call it whatever you want. Im just a politically ignorant blue collar tax payer. My Prius driving tree hugging next door neighbor blames everything on the insurance companies. There is likely much truth to that. But who took bribes from the insurance companies to pass laws that fit their agenda. Politicians. Which ones? Obviously Obamma golfed with a few of the insurance companies share holders or CEOs. But I digress.

Again, without engaging in debate, I'll make another prediction.....if he continues to out-smart the deep state and lives that long, I predict a bigger win in '20 than he had in '16, no matter what commie fop they put up against him.

Being a thousand miles west of steel country, we'll be awhile catching up, but we are on the rise, which is good...I got about 20 loads to get gone out of here to open up some real estate.

But I digress. I was in a similar situation a few years ago with my then girlfriend.....forced to buy insurance for her because we weren’t married yet and she couldn’t be covered under mine. So the Obama administration was more than capable or penalizing those who tried. Now, if you had employee provided insurance I could see this not being an issue which I did but she didn’t. Where I’m from that insurance mandate was a huge blow, people who couldn’t afford were now forced to afford it, WTF? I’m enjoying Trumps approach to business right now, it should prove interesting in the next couple years to see what comes of it. I was to the point at the end of the Obama administration I would have given about anyone a chance, we’d had the same political agenda for years running and it wasn’t working, you’d be a fool to say it was. Am I the only one who doesn’t really care if the crazy Russians meddled in the crazy Americans election? Seems to me that’s just crying over spilled milk, the facts are there that the Clintons hands aren’t clean either so to me it’s a wash and we thankfully didn’t have 4 more years of government freebies.
