I was dq'd last night at a local track for having a "high performance vehicle" in enduro.I've already won one this year at same track with same car.2nd and 3rd were police cars too and were ok.what is the real difference in police and civilian?I thought it was mostly small options

Usually upgraded electrical system, some will get a better radiator, sometimes a software flash. Georgia State police can ( or at least could) order Chargers that were basically SRT's with basic interiors and steel wheels... But for the most part, there is very little difference in a "Police Package" compared to the old days. Police package now basically means it was part of a fleet order for the PD.

We got paperwork from Ford dealer proving the police was really no difference from civilian.(for what we do anyway) Damn fool for a tech man.

Depends on the type of police car. 2011+ Caprice didn't have a civilian counterpart really. Taurus police have different chassis reinforcement. Top speed limit based on tires. For example, I believe the SHO are 130mph, but the police do 150.

Thanks I bought my wife a 2013 Taurus with the AWD Ecoboost for $5000. The same auction had one that had been rolled but still ran/drove that went for $1100. I've been kicking myself since for not buying it, either for parts or if I could sneak it into an Enduro somewhere. They are definitely fun to drive.
