Never ran a truck but up here in NY most shows run BONE stock trucks. 88^ gm are garbage. 2000ish? dodges win almost every show. Just what I observe for what it's worth. I'm sure rust has a factor but every chevy I see run is folded in half right behind the cab after 2 minutes.

I've seen alot of 88-98 Chevys belly bad right behind cab too.
Another thing to look out for on them is behind the front tires the frame likes to rot out in the arch or S curve area.
I don't run trucks, just relaying what I've seen while working on them.

Thanks for all the input. It's mostly stock. Change body bolts to 3/4 rod, floating cage, weld doors shut, change front bumper and that's about it.
