Is one stonger, or does one give more of an offset than the other (when comparing s10/Astro spindles). Any loss of strength going from the old iron spindles? Can you use the old iron rotor? And lastly, is there certain years to look for? Sorry for all the questions, just looking at the pros/cons.

Well alot of the fords now days are running the Astros an s10s. I haven't seen one perform better then the other. An I don't think the old iron rotor will work with the bolt pattern. Could open up rotor holes or redrill new holes.

Anyone know about the height you should have the bumper on a 71-76 GM? Mine is at 16" to the bottom and 23" to the top. Just seems a little low to me.

Should have mentioned that i cant weld A-arms down. I put in spring spacers, but those only give an inch or two.

Can't bolt them down either then? Most rules that dont allow you to get your suspension solid will not allow spindle swaps either.

Most stock derbys around my area wouldn't even know if you swap spindles. As long as it's a oem spindle u should be able to run it. Also could drop ur springs out put a spacer above it an put it back in

3/4-1 ton truck coils. Will have very little bounce. But enough to pass inspection.

Possibly weld chains around your a arm, on each side of the frame so it has a little give? Done that once to a Vic, show didn't allow solid suspension

Pulling the rubber bump stop out from under the upper a arm helps. I like to drop my spindle from my upper a arm and beat one 2x4 in the lowest coil in my cool spring, then stack two spring spacers in the two coils above it. It makes it stiff and gains height.
