1 PARTICIPANT’S RULES OF CONDUCT & RACE PROCEDURES
RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of demolition derby events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and, by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from the publication of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall results from such alterations of specifications. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final. On occasion when situations arise that are not covered by written rules, special rulings may be put into effect by the track officials. Once such rulings are acted upon, they may become an act of policy and will be added to the existing rules of procedures.

Wreckless Warrior events are private property. Spectators and participants are welcome to attend the activities at the facility for entertainment purposes, but the track reserves the right to remove person(s) causing a disturbance or interference with the entertainment on said property. Only race cars, official equipment, and one authorized vehicle per racing car are permitted in the pit area during the running of the races. All other equipment must be moved outside of the track and pit area before the running of the first event. Anyone not complying with this order will not be able to race until the compliance is met. Vehicles including towing equipment, wreckers, push trucks, and all other equipment located in the area or restricted parking area are not covered by insurance. Every person who enters the pit and racing area, or participates in competition sanctioned or promoted by Bo Lockwood Motorsports does acknowledge, represent, and warrant that he or she has read, understands, and agrees to abide by the rules in their entirety. Ignorance will not be tolerated as an excuse. Application or permission to participate or enter the grounds shall constitute acceptance of the same. Drivers/owners are urged to share these rules with their crew members. These rules are effective upon publication by Bo Lockwood Motorsports, regardless of when a person is subject to the rules or receives actual notice of the rule(s). Additional copies are available. Drivers are independent contractors assuming all responsibility for money received as a result of their activities including but not limited to income taxes, FICA, other withheld taxes, and workman’s compensation. Drivers/owners are not employees of Bo Lockwood Motorsports. Drivers agree that they, heirs, and assigns will be entitled to the benefits of the competitor accident policy procured by Bo Lockwood Motorsports for accidental injuries or death, which are the results of external, violent, and visible means sustained in derby activities. The competitor accident policy shall constitute the limit of liability of Bo Lockwood Motorsports for such injuries occurring to the driver in derby activities, and driver unconditionally release and indemnify Bo Lockwood Motorsports, regardless of the nature of injury or death. All persons entering the pit area must read, understand, and sign the Release and Waiver Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement. Drivers/owners are urged to share the release with all crew members so that they fully understand what they are signing at each event. In consideration of entering into any of the scheduled events, drivers, car owners, pit-people or agents, agree to permit Bo Lockwood Motorsports and it’s assigned, the use of their names and pictures and picture of the car for advertising and publicity before and after any event, and to relinquish all rights to any photos or sell the same. All rules and points will be in effect on opening night for all divisions.
3 General Rules and Procedures 3.1 Drivers Age Requirements
Drivers must be at least 16 years of age to compete in all other divisions. Those who are 16-17 must sign the Parental Consent, Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement at each race event. Note: Drivers that do not meet this age requirement are required to request an exception to policy with track management.
Youth Compact entries ages 11-16 years of age must sign the Parental Consent, Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement at each race event.
3.2 General Rules
1. All drivers/owners must complete the annual participant registration agreement in its entirety to compete. Both the driver and owner’s signatures are needed to consider the registration agreement fully completed. Drivers/owners must pay a registration fee to compete on regular events.
2. Drivers will be paid by cash or possibly check for each night’s racing activities. Earnings may be picked up at the office window under the scoring tower after the completion of your feature event. It is your responsibility to claim your money.
3. Bo Lockwood Motorsports will mail the person or corporation designated on the Form W-9 a Form 1099 MISC by January 31 of the following year if the person or corporation earned a minimum of $600.00 during the year, as required by the IRS.
4. Bo Lockwood Motorsports reserves the right to inspect all vehicles and trailers entering the pit area.
5. When in the pit area, it is your responsibility to maintain a constant watch for your own protection.
6. Drivers must easily be able to enter and exit their cars.
7. No mirrors, radios, or communication equipment allowed.
8. The promoter and/or track officials reserve the right to reject any car and/or driver without recourse. Only suitable cars will be approved for competition. All cars and drivers are subject to inspection at any time by tech inspector and/or promoter.
9. No car deemed unsafe or illegal by a track official or tech inspector will be allowed on the track at any time. If a car has been found illegal, upon his next visit to the derby, the car will be teched prior to the racing events.
10. The driver and owner assumes responsibility for all actions of pit crew, sponsors, and themselves at all times and shall be the sole spokespersons for the car and crew in any and all matters pertaining to the race and with officials in charge. If the driver is also the owner, only he/she will be the sole spokesperson.
11. Any driver or owner taking part in discourteous conduct or causing a disturbance in public may be disqualified. He or she may also be suspended for a minimum of one derby in which his or her division is scheduled to compete. This suspension excludes any cancellations. Any suspension(s) on the final night of competition will carry over to the next year. Crew members are also subject to suspension that may possibly carry over to the driver at the discretion of the promoter. In the event of a suspension during a sanctioned event, the suspension will carry over to the amount of weeks deemed necessary by track management for his or her division. It will be up to the sanctioning body to determine any additional penalties over and above Bo Lockwood Motorsports
12. Anyone leaving his or her pit area to go to another pit area to cause a disturbance WILL be suspended by track management for whatever period of time is deemed necessary.
13. We demand courtesy conduct from all participants at all times. We expect you to look like a professional and act like one! Be clean, informed, and look respectable.
14. No person shall use abusive language or threaten bodily harm or equipment damage when addressing a track official, track employee, driver, or any participant of any crew. Severe or repeated violations may necessitate a suspension.
15. Firearms and any type of weapons are absolutely prohibited at all times on the grounds of Bo Lockwood Motorsports, as the facility is private property. At any time, the display of any type of weapon or threat of bodily harm will result in permanent suspension and arrest.
16. Any driver committing unnecessary contact, harassment, or using any driving tactic that is considered dangerous by the flagman or track official will be deemed rough driving. This rule applies to preliminary events, and features. Reprimands for rough driving are covered in the Rules of Procedures.
17. Threats of retaliation on the Bo Lockwood Motorsports will be considered assault with a deadly weapon and grounds for prosecution. If this is heard by track officials, Bo Lockwood Motorsports has the right to bar the driver from competing for the remainder of the night or from future events.
18. Absolutely no fighting for any reason. Drivers, owners, crew members, etc. fighting will be subject to a suspension.
19. No person signing into the pit area shall drink intoxicants and/or use narcotics during a racing event. Any driver or crew member who arrives at Bo Lockwood Motorsports under the influence of intoxicants and/or narcotics will be denied participation in the events of that day and may be suspended indefinitely. No exception to the rule. Bo Lockwood Motorsports reserves the right to check teams’ hauler, trailer, or race car for narcotics and/or intoxicants at any time. Any participant suspected of narcotic and/or intoxicant use may be subject to testing. Refusal of testing may result in expulsion or suspension from Bo Lockwood Motorsports. Any injured competitor that was determined to be legally intoxicated will result in a denial of insurance benefits.
20. Absolutely no profane signs or derogatory comments allowed on race cars. Anyone who does so will not be permitted to race until it is removed.
21. No driver, car owner, or crew member will have any claim for damages or expenses against the promoter or any track official by reasons of disqualification, damages to the car, or injuries to the driver. All parties agree that the track grounds are considered safe if they take part in the event. It is the duty of all drivers, car owners, and crew members to bring to the attention of track officials any unsafe equipment, practices, or any rules infraction of any car or driver. The driver further acknowledges that the driver is aware that auto racing involves risks and that by competing in an event, the driver assumes these risks with full awareness and knowledge.
22. An approved racing helmet with goggles or face shield, flame retardant uniform with gloves (highly recommended), and competition quick-release harness with shoulder straps must be worn and be fastened at all times while on the track or in the pits. A full-face helmet is highly recommended
(Snell2005).
23. Each car will furnish their own fire extinguishers. Each extinguisher should be kept fully charged at all times. Each pit area will also have an extinguisher located either within the hauler or in the trailer. It is highly recommended that drivers carry an on board extinguisher as well.
24. Excessive speeding in the pit area will not be tolerated and will be subject to a possible suspension.
25. Only registered drivers may drive cars in any official racing event of Bo Lockwood Motorsports
26. The driver is the only person permitted in/on a car at any time while it is underway either in the pits or on the track. No one is permitted to ride on or in a derby car at any time.
27. All required emergency personnel and flagman must be present before competition takes place on the track.
28. Any participant involved in an accident that results in injury or has the potential to have health effects not immediately recognizable, must report to the pit steward or track office before leaving the premises, providing the participant/spectator is physically able to do so. Negligence in this matter will result in loss of any benefits.
29. Any car involved in a serious accident may be impounded as well as any photos and/or videos by Bo Lockwood Motorsports. Also, a car(s) may be impounded on a technical issue. The car owner will sign a designated waiver releasing Bo Lockwood Motorsports.
30. It is highly recommended that drivers are not to get out of their cars on the race track until safety crews arrive or unless there is an extreme emergency. Any driver that does so to argue or discuss the race with the officials will be disqualified for the night or suspended according to the decision of the officials.
31. Drivers are not to leave their cars after an accident and walk back to the pit area. Drivers are to stay in their cars while the car is transported back to driver’s pit area or take a complimentary ride back to their pit area in the ambulance.
32. No one is permitted on the race track unless authorized. It is recommended that each team designate one person that can act as a liaison with track crews in the event of a serious accident. This person should report to the line-up official if the need arises. Anyone who enters the track without permission may be penalized from the pit area for a minimum of one event.
33. No one is permitted on the track during victory lane ceremonies except the winning driver. Owners, crew members, fans, etc. may join the winning car and driver in the victory lane paddock area.
34. No cars will be fueled at the fuel pumps. Fuel is to be purchased in approved containers.
35. At no time will 55-gallon drums of fuel (gas or alcohol) be permitted to be brought into the pit area.
36. All teams will be responsible for the proper disposal of their used motor oil, grease, or any other lubricants, coolants, or substances that may be harmful to the environment. Anyone found contaminating the track with these materials will be fined $1,000, and will also have to pay to have any contamination cleaned up to the DEP specifications. Failure to comply with this will result in prosecution and suspension.
37. All teams are responsible for their tires. Do not leave unwanted tires lying around and expect the track to clean up for you. Violations may be grounds for sanctions.
38. No two-way radios allowed. One-way communication from track officials only is allowed.
39. NO Traction Control devices of any kind are allowed.
3.3 Offenses and Fines
1st Offense:
Person must post $1,000 in the form of a cashier’s check or money order with Bo Lockwood Motorsports. Also, the person will be suspended for the next two racing events held at any Bo Lockwood Motorsports event. The person must post the bond no later than the day before race day at 230 Siecker RD St Marys PA 15857. After one calendar year, if the person was not involved in a second offense, the person will receive back the $1,000 cash bond.
2nd Offense: Person will lose the $1,000 cash bond and a one-year suspension will be imposed, which starts from the date of the second offense.
3rd Offense:
Person will be suspended indefinitely. Failure to comply with this rule by any person(s) will mean immediate suspension from future races.
3.4 ATVs, Four-Wheelers, Golf Carts, or Other Motorized Vehicles are not permitted anywhere on the grounds of any Bo Lockwood Motorsports events, unless permission is granted by Wreckless Warrior Officials. Rules for ATVs are:
(1) One per car
(2) The car owner and owner of the ATV are equally responsible for all injuries to person or property caused by anyone operating the ATV and shall indemnify and hold Bo Lockwood Motorsports harmless from all claims arising in any way from participating in the racing activity and the use of the ATV
(3) Speeds must be kept to a reasonable pace at the discretion of Bo Lockwood Motorsports
(4) Minimum age of the ATV operator is 16
(5) Only the operators listed on the registration may operate the machine and only for the purpose of pushing or servicing a Sprint Car or in any need that is permissible to Bo Lockwood Motorsports
(6) The ATV must remain in the pit area.
4 CAR NUMBERS: Numbers must be painted on both sides of the car and be at least 18” high. Please keep numbers limited to three digits. All numbers and letters should be clearly legible at derby speeds. If numbers 3, 6, 8, or 9 are used, make sure they are distinguishable. Duplicate numbers will be modified and assigned by the race director for the duration of the season. Any driver/owner refusing to let track officials do so will NOT be permitted to compete until the modifications are completed.
5 INSPECTION: All cars are subject to inspection by the tech inspector or pit official at any time or any place. The tech inspector and/or promoter will enforce the rules of the appropriate division, and shall have the authority to deny a car permission to race based on his judgment of its condition relative to the rules. It is your responsibility to know and understand the rules before you participate. Cars that do not pass inspection or those that do not meet minimum requirements set by the track and/or tech inspector will not be able to compete, no refunds will be given, and any points and monies earned that night will be forfeited. Bo Lockwood Motorsports reserves the right to make changes to the rules at any time in order to preserve the competition and integrity of the event and/or division. Participant hereby grants Bo Lockwood Motorsports full and unconditional permission to collect and retain vehicles, parts of vehicles, equipment, or any other items used in conjunction with participation that are owned by or in the possession of participant or present at an event (collectivity “items”), including such items that may be relevant to teching, the investigation of an accident; the inspection or testing of such items for previous purposes, or for any other purpose Bo Lockwood Motorsports may exercise this right to take and retain items at any time when Bo Lockwood Motorsports determines in its sole and absolute discretion that such actions are necessary. When an item is suspected of being out of compliance with a Bo Lockwood Motorsports rule, or when an item has been involved in an incident, Bo Lockwood Motorsports may in its sole and absolute discretion collect and retain such items if Bo Lockwood Motorsports believes it necessary to do so to further investigate, make a final determination, and/or preserve evidence, all in Bo Lockwood Motorsports sole and absolute discretion. At any time that Bo Lockwood Motorsports collects and retains items, Bo Lockwood Motorsports will try to safeguard such items and return such items when Bo Lockwood Motorsports has completed its work with them, but Bo Lockwood Motorsports makes no representations or warranties that the item(s) will not be lost, damaged destructively tested, destroyed, or otherwise affected. Parts deemed illegal parts will not be returned to driver/owner and will become the sole possession of Bo Lockwood Motorsports. The rights granted to Bo Lockwood Motorsports in this subsection shall also apply to any Bo Lockwood Motorsports track officials.
6 DRIVERS MEETING: Drivers meeting will precede events competition and all times will be posted on the blackboard. All drivers/owners are expected to attend the meeting to obtain the evening’s announcements, rules changes, etc. Drivers that do not attend the drivers meeting waive all rights to protest. The intent of the drivers meeting is for informational purposes about the event. Questions on procedures and format are encouraged; however, personal attacks or signaling anyone out will not be tolerated in front of the group. Any person making malicious attacks may be barred from competing in the night’s event and risks a suspension. Issues concerning other drivers, track officials, or any other private/personal matters are to be dealt with at another time with the promoter and/or track official(s). Please contact the office to make a pre-arranged appointment.
7 MULTIPLE DIVISIONS/CHANGING DIVISIONS: There are no restrictions on what divisions a driver can compete. Any driver may compete in any division as long as the car properly meets the division’s specs. The only exception to the above rule is the youth Stock division, which is an amateur division. Drivers may race in multiple divisions; but the same car cannot be raced in more than one division on the same night unless predetermined by Bo Lockwood Motorsports management in advance. Also, if a driver’s division is competing on a night, in no such case will that car be allowed to be raced in a different division than the one the car meets the specs for.
8 DRIVER/CAR SUBSTITUTIONS: All driver changes must be reported to the pit steward at the blackboard prior to the car entering the line-up area. A new registration form must be filled out. Driver substitutions after the heat races begin must be approved by the race director and/or promoter. In all cases, the car qualifies for the race, not the driver. A driver may not substitute another car for the one he has qualified. Once a car attempts to compete in the official racing activities, no back-up car will be permitted. In the event the feature is postponed to another date after qualifying has been completed and the driver of a qualified car cannot return, the car owner can replace the driver with an unqualified driver. If the feature was started before postponement, no driver changes will be permitted. Any driver change not reported to the pit steward before the start of an event will result in disqualification.
9 ROOKIE DRIVERS: All rookie drivers (first year drivers) must check the rookie box on their registration form.
10 FIELD SIZE: The number of cars per heat race will be determined by the race director.
11 LINE UP Cars will enter the lineup area as directed by the lineup official. Cars should enter the track at a slow and steady pace. Be advised that the PROMOTER will not hold the race for a late car.
11.1 Heats: Will be lined-up with the low pill number in first heat and the second low in heat two and so on alternating by heats. Cars must start their scheduled heat.
11.2 Consolation round. Any car not qualifying directly into the feature must run a Consolation race as a second attempt to make the feature. Wreckless Warrior top ten cars who do not make the feature through the heat race must participate in the Consolation before being eligible for the any Provisionals.
12 Features: Only Drivers qualifying through selected Heat Race, Consolation Round, or Feature Provisional may enter.
13 MEANING OF THE FLAGS: Green flag: The race officially begins or signals a restart after red flag period.
Red flag: Slow immediately and come to a complete stop.
Checkered flag: Race is officially complete and race leader is declared the winner.
14 RACE SCORING: All scoring will be done in live time. Results and decisions will be made by scorers and/or track officials. Bo Lockwood Motorsports will not use individuals’ videos, pictures, etc. to make rulings.
15 RED FLAG: Under red flag conditions, all drivers must stop as quickly and safely as possible. Do not drive through the accident scene! Any driver not stopping will run the risk of being disqualified. Emergency and pit entrances of the track cannot be blocked. Emergency personnel need to get to the accident scene as quickly as possible. Cars may exit the speedway cautiously when it is safe and clear to do so. Under red flag conditions, no one will be permitted on the track, unless special permission is granted. Anyone rushing to an accident scene may be suspended for a minimum of one derby. Drivers involved in red flag accidents are to be evaluated and transported back to their pit by EMS personnel. This is for the welfare and safety of all drivers involved. EMS personnel are required to fill out accident reports, which the drivers will be required to sign. Any medical problems noted will be reported to track officials. Continued participation will be at the drivers’ discretion. Any participant involved in an accident that results in injury or has the potential to have health effects not immediately recognizable, must report to the pit steward before leaving the premises, providing the participant/spectator is physically able to do so. Negligence in this matter will result in loss of all benefits. If a red flag occurs during a feature, any car requiring wrecker services will be taken to the pits. Track officials, wrecker personnel, firemen, push truck drivers, etc. are not permitted to touch sheet metal, make any repairs, or remove mud from cars on the speedway. All repairs and work to the car must be made in the pit area. The race will not be held up for any driver. If the result of rough driving is a red flag then the car charged with the rough driving will be disqualified without pay or points.
16 BLACK FLAG/DISQUALIFICATIONS: Cars black-flagged for blatant behavior such as rough driving, failure to obey officials, causing an intentional caution, etc. will be disqualified and will receive no pay or points for the night. These above infractions will not be tolerated at any time, no exception, and may result in a suspension. A driver r
17 DERBY/SCORING PROTESTS: Only the driver or car owner as designated on the annual registration form may file a scoring or race protest. All protests will be filed with the pit steward at the blackboard and a protest form must be completed in order for track officials and the promoter to hear a protest. The driver or car owner will have five minutes after the results have been posted on the blackboard to file a protest. Pit officials have phone and radio contact with the scoring tower and will resolve any problems that may occur. Scorers and track officials cannot be questioned about a previous race while a race is in progress. Unless the matter can be handled accordingly, all disputes will be settled after the completion of the racing program. Officials’ radio communications overheard by others will never be used as the basis of a protest, nor will they be used in support of a protest. The dispute will be handled in a professional way. The driver and/or car owner should present himself in a positive manner- one that is acceptable by those he or she represents, and those who are nearby. At no time will drivers and/or owners be permitted to discuss race or scoring protests or disputes in the grandstand area. No participant shall subject a scorer or any track official to verbal or physical abuse or improper language at any time. The driver/owner assumes responsibility for the actions of their crew and themselves. Any driver, owner, or pit crew member entering the scoring tower or flag stand will be suspended for a minimum of one derby and may disqualify the car and/or driver for a minimum of one derby, at the discretion of Bo Lockwood Motorsports. The promoter and track officials will enforce the rules of procedures and conduct, and determine sanctions. If officials determine a change in the finish is necessary after payoff has been released, monetary adjustments will be made in the subsequent derby(s).
18 RAIN OUTS/CANCELLATIONS/UNCOMPLETED EVENTS: Track officials may cancel a race if dangerous or unsafe conditions arise... If a “rain out” is declared, management will specify which event(s) your rain check will be good for. Rain check will be redeemable at event’s face value. No refunds will be given. The possibility of a rainout or circumstances beyond our control that force the postponement of an event is a risk you assume every time you enter the grounds. Exception: If feature event(s) is/are cancelled and the show has been considered a complete show, and no rain date will be utilized, the total feature purse may be split equally among the qualified drivers, if 50% or more of the feature has not been completed. Management reserves the right to choose a scenario that best fits the interest of Bo Lockwood Motorsports, which may or may not include a make-up night or refunding of all gate receipts.
19 FINALITY OF DECISIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE: The decisions of Bo Lockwood Motorsports officials or promoter at an event, including the interpretation and application of rules and the scoring of positions, shall be FINAL, BINDING, and NON-APPEALABLE, except in the case of a suspension or fine, which is further explained in the SUSPENSIONS/FINES & APPEALS category. All participants, as a condition of participating in an event, agree that ALL decisions of officials or the promoter, regarding the interpretation and application of the rules, and the scoring of positions, shall be NON-LITIGABLE. All participants further covenant and agree that they will NOT initiate any of legal action against The Wreckless Warriors Series, Bo Lockwood Motorsports, the promoter, and officials to challenge such decision, to seek monetary damages, to seek injunctive relief, or to seek any kind of legal remedy. If a participant pursues any such legal action, which violates this provision, then the participant and/or owner expressly agrees to reimburse Bo Lockwood Motorsports for ALL of its ATTORNEY FEES and COSTS IN DEFENDING AGAINST SUCH LEGAL ACTION. By signing the annual registration agreement, participants agree that they will comply with the written rules and procedures of Bo Lockwood Motorsports. In the event that he or she would breach the annual registration agreement, he or she shall be liable for actual and liquidated damages sustained by Bo Lockwood Motorsports
20 SUSPENSIONS/FINES & APPEALS PROCESS:
Bo Lockwood Motorsports will determine any and all suspensions/fines that are covered in the rules and procedures and any violation that may come up during the year. Bo Lockwood Motorsports will make judgment on the sanctions and violator(s) will be sent official notice by a certified letter, return receipt requested. The violator(s) will have the opportunity to appeal his or her sanction and must do so in writing accompanied by any relevant documentation within three days of being notified of the violation. Bo Lockwood Motorsports then will set a date and time for the hearing at the business office located at the track office inside the tower. The violator will present his case to Bo Lockwood Motorsports. Following the appeal hearing with the violator, Bo Lockwood Motorsports will conduct further follow-ups, meetings, hearings, etc. with any other necessary party. Judgment then will be rendered to the violator by a certified letter, return receipt.
Wreckless Warrior Points program:
Each driver who participates in any Wreckless Warrior points events will be awarded points based upon their performance. The point’s breakdown is as follows

In the unlikely event of a points tie at the conclusion of the season a series of tie breakers could be used to determine the point’s victor.
1. Driver with most points derby appearances in a given year
2. Drivers first attempt at inspection record
3. Driver with the highest average finish
• Driver disqualification for any reason will result in loss of any points earned for that specific event.

• Points stay with Driver only
• Driver may only enter 1 car per event for points. If driver enters more than 1 car said driver must declare which car will be running for points at the registration table.

Car Building Rules and Regulations
Super Stock
General 1 - Any year Foreign or Domestic mass-produced 2 or 4 door hard top car or coil sprung station wagon is permitted. No fullsize leaf spring station wagons. No Chrysler Imperials or Imperial frames 1973 or older. No open roof cars. Minimum 107” wheelbase (full size).
2 - No 4WD, Jeeps, Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Vans, Utilities, Flower Cars, Limousines, or Carry-alls permitted.
3 - All cars must have an identifying number displayed on each side and the roof. The numbers must be large enough to be seen from announcer’s booth.
4 - STOCK MEANS STOCK! These cars are to be considered STOCK unless specifically mentioned in these rules. No altering, swapping, welding, or manipulating parts unless specifically mentioned. Patching and rust repair WILL be allowed. (SEE BELOW)
Stripping1 - All unnecessary glass, plastic and chrome moldings, and flammable materials must be removed. No broken windows in doors.
2 - The car must be clean and free of loose debris in the driver’s compartment and the trunk.
3 - All airbags must be removed. Drain air conditioners. Rubber hoses must be cut or removed prior to arrival at the track. All trailer/towing hitches must be removed.
Body and Frame
1 – BODY
1. BODY MOUNTS MUST REMAIN STOCK AND IN STOCK LOCATION
2. Original body spacers must remain and not be altered
3. Only Front 2 (two) core support bolts may be changed. Core support bolts may extend through the hood to also be used as hood bolts. Core support replacement bolts may not exceed ½ inch in diameter. Washers for bolts may not exceed 3 inch by 3inch round or square. If core support bolts are changed a minimum and maximum of 1 inch must remain between core support and frame.
4. Front core support bolts may travel through the bottom of the frame.
5. Core support bolts may only be used as the factory intended.
6. If a body bolt needs replaced you must call
2 - PATCHING – CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS – EXCESSIVE PATCHING WILL BE CUT!!a) Frame patching - You may patch rusted or bent frames. Max 2 patches per car. Each patch may be no larger than 3” x 6” x 1/8” thick and retain all factory holes. Original frame being patched must be cut out, and patch must be exact fit with no overlap, stitch welded 1” on, 1” off only. You may not re-weld any frame seams. If creative patching creates reinforcement, it will be cut.
FRAME RESTUBING MUST CALL!b) Body patching - You may patch rust using same thickness of metal as area you’re patching. 2 inch overlap only on rusted areas. No overlapping of patches and no patching over factory seams. Body patching is limited to 4 patches per car, max 12” x 12” ea. You MUST prove your rust! (Patches for safety issues, including floors, will be at official’s discretion – CALL AHEAD).
3 - Notching and pre-bending will be allowed. Do not weld the notches back together.
4 - Wedging and lowering of trunk area will not be allowed. Trunk lids may be cut or bent to tuck. Quarter panels must remain vertical.
5 - Do not paint or undercoat frames inside or out. Do not grind or buff frames
Cages and Driver Protection1 - Bars must be sheet metal to sheet metal. Bars must be single bars, not stacked or doubled. They must be at least 5" from the center of the fire wall, and floor at any point including transmission and driveshaft tunnels The back bar may not be any further back then where the kick panel meets the bench seat.. Front bar may not contour the body. It must run straight across. All bars MUST be inside the drivers compartment except roof bar. All cage bars may be no bigger than 5"x 5” except side bars. Side bars may be c-channel up to 6”. Side bars cannot go past the fire wall or past the center of the rear doors. If side bars are not used, mounting plates not exceeding ¼” x 6” x 12” may be used on the ends of the seat bar and dash bar. A roof bar may be used. It must go straight across and straight up and down and may be bolted or stitch welded with 1 inch welds in 3 places to the roof only. It must come off your rear seat bar. Max 5”x5” bars or 6” C-channel.
2 - Non-posted cars may weld 1 (one) post to each side of the car, centered on the door seam, 3” x ½” max., with no more than 4” extending down the door or onto the roof.
3 - ONE windshield bar or chain may be attached from the roof to the cowl area on the front windshield area only to protect the driver. This may not be used as a strengthener or to keep a car from bending.
4 - Driver’s door reinforcement is recommended and may be on the inside or outside of the car. This is not to extend more than 10” in front of and 10” behind the driver’s door seams. Inside padding is recommended for the driver’s door. No sharp or protruding edges.
Hoods, Trunks, and Doors1 - Hood must have at least a 10” x 10” hole on each side of the air cleaner for fire personnel. Hood/trunk cutout bolts may be used. Max 12 per hood/trunk, no larger than 3/8” bolts. If you are using engine driven plastic fan, hood must cover fan and extend 6” past fan blade.
2 - Hoods and trunk lids may be secured in 6 places with max 3/8” chains, #9 wire, and/or banding. They may wrap around bumpers. Core support bolts may extend through the hood to also be used as hood bolts. (These are the only bolt allowed to secure the hood) If core support bolts are used they will count as 2 of the 6 locations to fasten your hood. 3 - All hoods/ trunks MUST be open on stock hinges or removed completely for inspection regardless of cutout size.
4 - All rear inner decking panels must be removed from station wagons. All body seams must be visible for inspection whether it is a used car that is bent or a fresh car that is pre-bent. If trunk lids are tucked, a large hole must be cut for inspection.
5 - Only the driver side door may be welded solid with up to 3/8” rod or 3”x ¼” strap All other doors may be chained or wired in no more than 2 spots per seam, sheet metal only. If passenger doors are welded 3/8 rod or 3”x1/4” strap may be used. Maximum of 24” (inches) of weld per door may be used.
Bumpers1 - Any year OEM car bumper is permitted. You may cut or bend bumper ends for clearance. Bumper brackets may be rebolted.
2 - You may weld bumpers to bumper shocks and shocks to brackets. You may weld bumpers to brackets for non-shock applications. You may swap bumper brackets from car to car. Brackets must be used in their STOCK manor, and may not be altered in any way! Bumper brackets may only be welded to the first 6 inches of frame. NO additional metal may be used. You may weld bumpers directly to the frame. However, if you choose this option, you may not have a bumper shock or bracket in or on the frame.
3 - Bumpers MAY be chained or wired to car body. If chains or wire pass through hood or trunk, they will be counted as tie down spots. No welding bumpers to bodies. Bumpers skins ONLY may be welded no extra metal can be used.
Engines, Transmissions and Driveshafts1- Engine and transmission swapping between manufacturers is allowed. Do not strengthen frames or crossmembers with mounts. A simple cradle with a pulley protector will be allowed. Motor mounts may be bolted or welded to crossmember ONLY. One engine chain per side may be used, bolted to existing factory hole, or wrapped around frame only. Factory transmission crossmembers must be used.
2 - Aftermarket shifters, gas pedals, and throttle linkages are allowed. Transmission braces are NOT allowed.
3 - Transmission coolers must be properly secured inside the car and may not strengthen the car in any way
4 - Exhaust may exit under the car or straight up through the hood. Some type of air cleaner must be used. No open carbs will be allowed.
5 - Radiators must remain in their stock location if used. Closed loop systems are allowed as a simple hose to hose connection.
6 - Metal engine driven clutch fans approved. One plastic racing style fan or one electric fan with plastic blades will be allowed per car.
7 - Water only in cooling system. Please drain antifreeze prior to arrival at the track.
8 - Two batteries per car are allowed. Batteries must be mounted securely to the passenger side floorboard and covered with a rubber mat. We recommend metal frames bolted or welded to the floor or chains. Please do not use zip screws or rubber straps.
9 - Distributor protectors are NOT allowed.
10 - Factory driveshafts may be altered to accommodate for length and drivetrain. No truck driveshafts. Sliders are permitted
Suspension and Rears1 – Any rear end may be used
2 - Suspension may be raised by using torsion adjustments, spring spacers or blocks. Suspension may not be locked, it must still move.
3 - Shocks must be operational. They may be clamped or stuffed with rags, but must still travel. Shocks and springs may be from cars only. NO TRUCK PARTS!
4 – Factory leafed cars must have factory appearing spring packs with correct stepdowns. No more than two replacement clamps will be allowed on each spring pack. They may not exceed ¼” x 2” x 5”. Stock U bolt must also be used. If replaced they must be to factory specs
5 - No suspension conversions except airbags to coil springs. Trailing arms are to remain stock. 98 and newer Watts link suspensions may convert any rear to fit Watts Link suspension.
Gas Tanks and Gas1- ORIGINAL GAS TANKS MUST BE REMOVED COMPLETELY!!!
2 - Fuel cells or approved marine style tanks are required. No gas cans. Tanks must have secure, leak-proof fittings.
3 - Tanks must be located behind the front seat and must be securely fastened with chains, bolts, or both. ZIP SCREWS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE!! If you choose to use a frame for the purpose of mounting your gas tank, it may either be mounted to the seat bar OR bolted to the floor sheet metal. All gas tank frames/mounts may be no wider than 24”, and must start at least 4” away from vertical sheet metal on both used and fresh cars. Additionally, gas tank mounts may not be used as a technical advantage on a car.
4 - Tanks must be covered with a rubber mat, a metal cover, or both.
5 - You may run an electric fuel pump. It must have a kill switch that is clearly marked. Please use fittings or good hose clamps and make sure they are tight.
6 - No more than 10 gallons of gas allowed. Any gas or fuel may be used.
Brakes and Steering1 - A working hydraulic brake system is required. You must exhibit the ability to stop. Anyone losing their brakes during an event will be disqualified.
2 – Steering may be altered from the steering box to the steering wheel.
Tires and Rims1 - No studded tires. No liquid or concrete filled tires. Any ply rating, foam filled, doubled, etc will be allowed.
2 - All wheel weights must be removed, including on the inside of the wheels.
3 - Valve stem guards and variable lug (weld in) centers will be allowed.4- No beadlocks or aftermarket wheels
The No Torch Rule:
2016 will implement a no torch rule for the first time through inspection. If your car has any of the below listed infractions you will not be granted any opportunity to fix or torch your cars. You will be immediately disqualified. Point’s drivers will also be completely stripped of all points earned in 2016.
No torch rule list:
• Frame plates, welds, or modification not outlined in rules. This includes seam welds
• Inner body seam welding
• Bumper loading
• Any body mount modifications.

2016 Youth Derby Rules.
Ages 12-16 without Drivers License
Upon arrival a notarized parental consent form must be filled out or you will not be allowed to participate. One parent must be present with valid I.D. A notary must notarize the entry forms. A PARENT OR ADULT MUST RIDE WITH THE DRIVER. This is for instructional purposes as well as a possible emergency situation.
GeneralAll cars must remain stock unless specified in these rules. All cars must be factory front wheel drive 4 or 6 cylinder and wheelbase must not exceed 113"
All interior must be completely removed. U can leave in passenger seat, dash, KEY START RECOMMENDED completely remove airbags and power charge!
WELDINGOne bar behind seat 12 x 12 inner door plates and No larger than 6" dia. pipe. A roll over bar strongly advised. You may have a 4 point cage for driver and passenger safety. Reinforcing the driver’s door and passenger door highly recommended.
DOORS MAY BE WELDED outside only 3"wide x 1/4 thick strapping. Both outside front doors can be reinforced 6 inches past the door seams.
Trunk / tailgate may be welded in a 5” on 5” off pattern with 3” wide strapping deck lids must remain in factory location no tucking, wedging, or prebending of any kind.
Hoods must be fastened shut with bolts in 6 places or 9 wire in 8 places sheet metal to sheet metal only
BUMPERS Any year factory automobile bumper allowed.
NO LOADED, 74-76 chevy, or Chrysler pointy bumpers PERMITTED. You may hard nose the front bumper. You may use a 2” X 6” X ¼” plate to weld bumper the frame 2 per side. Bumper shocks may be 2” round pipe, 2” X 2” square tubing or factory shock, shocks may not be further than 6" inside of frame and be no bigger than 2 inches in dia. You may weld shock to frame FACTORY BUMPER SHOCKS CAN ONLY BE WELDED THE FIRST 6” FROM END OF FRAME AND MAY NOT BE MOVED BACK ON FRAME
TIRES No studded tires on the front. You can glue, screw, double and stem protection is allowed. Remove wheel weights.
Any tire permitted.
WINDSHIELD and rear window ** Must be removed. Must have 2 places of #9 wire, banding, strapping 3/8” X 3” flat stock or chain in windshield and rear window area to protect driver/pass. Mount this from roof to the cowl or deck lid panel. It must not be attached to the hood
BATTERY Must be mounted inside the car, all parts of battery must be covered with a non-flammable material.
Fuel TanksFuel systems must be mounted in a fashion that will not move.
Tanks must be made of steel and utilize a minimum of 4 hold down locations. All tanks must be moved to the rear seat area. Absolutely no STOCK tanks permitted. Tanks must be leak proof. Ratchet straps, bungee cords, and rope are not acceptable. Tanks must be bolted to the floor boards. Tanks must also be covered as a protective barrier.
Any tank that is deemed unsafe by safety officials will not be allowed to run.
All lines must be double clamped and routed in such a way that will not rupture during the event.
