The track itself looked fine(alright size, track itself wasn't overly dry/slick/rutted). When you say best track in the country, no. WHEN a car(not if, it will happen unless you try to prevent it) is pushed out and injures someone, maybe you'll change your tone. Thats just blatant disregard for safety. Sorry to come off sounding like a jerk, but I've almost been hit a few times from cars jumping the wall or coming out of an opening, and have seen people get broken bones(thankfully thats all they got) first hand from such accidents.

The driver in the suburban should have been disqualified for pushing Felipe (81) out of the track after getting warned once before he could have hurt the officials or the fire and ems personnel

Wtf!!! Little disappointed. Heard a lot about this place and I really wanted to run. But only had time to get a car done this year and thought it was illegal. But after what I heard and now seen I would've been under built. Get rid of that front frame welding rules.

Poor enforcement of rules. Multiple violations of the posted rules I observed just from the rules I could remember offhand. Track is fine. Driver of the burban that ran the chevy pickup out of the track needed dq'ed.

The openings are dangerous. Shout out to Koch on the win that thing didn't move. Also to Clinger for putting on a show like always(the 1st heat was by far the most entertaining).

There were at least 3 cops there. It's hard to build a car for a derby with posted rules that it turns out are largely ignored, both by contestants and the inspectors, and have a fair fight. Granted mine was underbuilt anyway but at least I know it was probably one of the only fully legal cars there. And yea Clinger is damn good...he lost a wheel in Luray too..took 2nd then as well.

Suspensions - you may leaf spring your car no more than 5 leafs and no wider than 3 inches. No more than 4 clamps per side. front suspension may be locked, front bumper height no more than 24 inches from bottom of bumper. rear bumper height no lower than 18 inches from bottom of bumper. After market suspension parts are permitted no excessive bracing. ^ The burgundy bubble top that was tilted to hell...rear bumper was absurdly low. Closer to 10 inches than a ft.
Hood and core support - Core support may be bolted with all thread no larger than 3/4. you can run it all the way thru the hood to bold hood down. you may chain, wire or bolt hood down. A 2ft by 2ft. hole must be in hood for fire detection. Can bolt hood down 6 spots. ^ At least one car had 1+ inch all thread hood/core support.
Body - No extra metal on body. if it is a pre ran car you can patch sheet metal of same thickness and not to exceed 2 inches past tear in sheet metal. you may bolt fender and quarter panels. ^ 21 car had diamond plate panel down the sides.
1. Bumpers - Any bumper may be used, you may use homemade bumper it must be no bigger than 4 inches in diameter. nothing to be welded to it. other than attaching it to the frame. weld it good don't want it to fall off. bumpers must be a straight piece of metal. we know how hard it is to find bumpers. you may hard nose your frame.you may weld a plate no longer than 10 inches per frame rail measuring from the back of the bumper.and no wider than the frame.at a 1/4 thick. Your preference on which side.top bottom or side. This is to be used as a bumper bracket. ^ Really? More than one had a homemade bumper, pointed in the middle then had a stock skin hammered to the contour and welded on.
I could go on. But I won't.

Thanks for putting on a good show Jason, Penny and the Toms Brook Fire department and staff. It looked to be a successful fund-raiser!!
Cars were some hard S.O.B.'s and they put on a hell of a show..
Congrads to Jason Koch for winning the 4K, Clinger always has a hard car and this time was no exception. When him and i went nose to nose my car held up but my steering column buckled bad. That was a bad bitch...
Matt Davidson had a great run in my old Hot Tuna car with a 3rd place finish and the Maddog award! congrads there as well...
Danny Manning finished 5th in the feature in my other car.. Fifth show at Woodstock for that car. Held up great and i guarantee you he has to be sore. Back bumper was against the roll cage when he started the day... Small consolation to see chassis i built finish 2nd and 5th. Maybe i should just build em.. lol
Small cars put on a hell of a show as well. Mr Shawn Kibler took home the 2K followed by John Waybright runner up and third went to Josh Wilkins.
Not sure why that SUV showed that truck that far out of the areana... He was putting on a good show till then but nearly hit a bunch of people. They were running trying to get out of the way. The crowd showed their dis-pleasure after he won and Felipe was ready to throw down.
Feud between Clines and Clinger continued with Clinger and his hencemen holding Cline against the wall and wailing on him for a few hits. That ones not over with yet. Cline is a salty old dog and there will be future bouts between them i would almost guarantee....
Alot of people loved the show but i heard more than a few complaining as well. I think this show will continue to grow. I will be in the boat-tail again next year after a trans and bumper swap..
Peace, Mark Wolfe

I believe the same thing happened to Clinger during the Woodstock fair derby. A few of the "hometown boys" did the same thing to him and the officials let it happen. So it seems to me a little payback was due. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

I wasn't complaining. I haven't figured out how to type sarcasm into my post. I love the rules except the front horns of the frame. I love the lack of rules. The guys who ran nationwide told me about this place. You don't need a name brand protector to run. Don't need to spend $3000 on a rear. Keep up the good work. HOPEFULLY I can get some input about the front frame that'll help everybody compete equally. Btw the guy a spoke to in the phone was a stand up guy and told me he work with me if I did to much to the frame but nothing could inside(which killed the the car I wanted to run).
