Any chances on heats for fair show if you get 25-30 stock or still one and done? Wondering so we can buy some extra parts if need to We will probably just stick to one and done. I have three derbies in a row scheduled in July 11th, July 17th, and July 25th.... jdf

Had a good couple hrs where there wasn't going to be rain. Show started an hour late, they should have ran the power wheels before the hour late start time since they spent time trying to find a spot for them to derby at 7. It's pouring rain now, and the derby could be over if they had started it on time. Hoping there's a chance to get the stocks in, was really looking forward to watching that. Speedracer: We were at the mercy of the weather the whole day and not to mention cars did not start rolling in until after 3pm. So trying to inspect 35 cars in three hours wasn't going to happen in rain showers! We spent 45 seconds on an alternative spot on the power wheels! They ran for 3 minutes... Shoulda woulda coulda never did anything for anyone........ jdf

Thank you to my cousin Jeff 122, the RMR crew(Larry, Jeremy, & Don), to "driver 21" Chumbley, Joe Williams(nice to see you in your first BIRD!) and to the South Bend driver that came over after the derby to say congrats(nice dose of sportsmanship)...Much appreciated after a hard fought mudfest. Thank you also to Chad Chumbley & Jeff French for your help in the pits, along with my biggest supporters: my youngest daughter Lauren & my Father. I also want to give props to John & his crew, and for sure the Clinton County Fairboard for allowing us to run. Mother Nature was one step ahead of us all afternoon and evening...No matter what the decision was made in the end to run or not, there was no way to make everyone happy. Power wheels, minis & promods got in, so 3 of the 4 scheduled events still took place. I knew most of the fellas running in the stock show and I was also looking forward to seeing you run on last Saturday night. On the bright side stock guys, you didnt have to spend $25 bucks getting 3-6 inches of mud wiped clean off everything from your motor to your gas tank!
As for the comment above around only 3 drivers using the skinny pedal, well apparently you must have not stayed for the entire pro-mod show because the last 15 minutes or so were getting pretty nasty. I am pretty darn sure that Larry & Jeremy(RMR)can vouch that the Black #9 car, a.k.a IRONGLADIATOR, used that so called skinny pedal at the end! Regarding the track conditions, they were not skinny pedal friendly at all, in fact it was not until towards the end when the rain really began to fall hard that the track loosened up a bit and you could at least slop through the ruts. This allowed for some more speed & better hitting. There was not ONE pro-mod car out there that didnt want to put the hammer down, in fact had this been the weather we had the night before, the Derby Fans would have been treated to some "EPIC" hitting because the HP & speeds would have been there. I know many of the transmissions out there were getting burnt up with the high RPMs, I could fry eggs on my tranny case by the end of the night. I do want to give a shout out to Jeremy Gard for building me a winning Engine, GARD power kept on pushing through even under the severe elements and didnt die a single time out there.
***To the FANS, you endured the worst of the elements to cheer on your favorite driver or to just watch some action. It may have not been what you or any of us hoped for due to the weather, but you were there to support all of us. We thank you for that. It is the fans that we need to keep in the stands, so next time you come out to watch a derby, bring a friend or two or three, that has not been exposed to the Derby world and make a night out of it. In the end, it is the FANS that will help keep this sport, hobby, obsession that we so love, ALIVE! I hope to see you all soon at a derby track in the near future. IG out!
