I got a go pro knock off that I have used for two of my regular derbies. Both were mounted on the roof just above my head. My uncle is running in a F8 this weekend and I am not sure were the best place to mount the camera.
In car on the speaker deck? In car on the cage pointing towards front/back? On the dash bar pointing towards the front? Or on the roof of the car?
Any good ideas or examples would be great. Thanks alot.
Just to give you a little idea of what it looks like inside the car, this was mounted on the sheet metal even with my helmet. I would suggest welding something solid to the cage to mount it to, because the sheet metal vibrating make the video shake a lot. I tried fixing it with youtube's anti-shake fix, but it distorts the video quite a bit (why the header looks like it's flopping around) This was with a 65lb pull magnetic mount, which released itself half way through the feature, so get a solid camera mount.

I have a grab handle on top of my car and I used a handle bar mount to mount the GoPro up there but I also use a lanyard tied to it in case the mount broke
I had a second GoPro on a spring clip mount clipped to the dash pad and that worked okay but at one point fell off. I didn't much care for the video that far up because it seemed like all you could see was me.
