I was removing the heater hose from water pump housing and as usual broke one of the bolts that hold it on my question is can the housing be removed without pulling harmonic balancer pulley it looks like it runs behind it but this is first 3.1 I've had and wanted to see what I was getting into or if I should just try to drill and tap it while still on car thanks for any help

You broke one of those little 4MM bolts on top of the water pump for the black tube with the bleeder on it? Easy out or drill the bolt out and drill and tap it one size bigger.

that's what I had in mind just thought if I could get housing off easy enough I would take it out and do it just to cut down on shavings and stuff getting in water pump but if its big job I'll just do it on car. you never know maybe the shavings would help with the leaky head gasket!

Hahaha, it couldn't hurt. To prevent getting most of the metal shavings in the waterpump just put a piece of ducttape over the hole and blow on the drill bit with an air hose. Should get 90% of the shavings away from the area before you go through. I'd redrill and tap it long before I'd mess with replacing that whole thing.
I broke one of those bolts off on a coworkers driver last year and I just drilled it out and put in a keysert (like a helicoil but way better) and he's still driving it today.

Pull the boots off the coil packs while its running. Only gotta pop one off of each pack to tell if the coil pack is bad. If you wanted, you could use a long neck plires to pull the wires off. You'll know right away if your doing it wrong. (really tickles when your front bumper is about weiner height) holy hell you werent kidding about it tickling lol got shocked to hell. number 3 and 5 no spark so im going to try a new coil pack tomorrow. thanks for the help!

Lmao, I was kind of serous about using a pliers. Still had to be vague enough that you may try it with bare hands. Ha, that will get your attention in a hurry.

Kind of the nice part about these conversions IMO. No more I wonder what sensor is making this thing not run right or at all. It either runs or it don't. Only things to figure out now are if its spark fuel or compression. I'll never go back.

So what would be the best thing to keep the motor running at a top with a lot of heat? Besides the temp sensor?

The timing cover gasket can cause a coolant leak and is a PITA.

Ok here it goes and pay attention!!! You can hotwire the trans whether you are running ECM or you carb it... Now if you have a 4t60e... 1. On front of trans there is a ROUND pigtail, cut wires long enough to work with them. 2. Peel wrap off and on the very bottom of the plug there are the 2 wires you will need... One is Green and one is yellow/black stripe, these two you twist together and run a hot wire to these... 3. Go clockwise from the yellow/black stripe skip one and it will be tan run ground wire and you should have 1st gear... I have had a few that were odd but think they were 3.4 dohc... Also you can put a toggle switch in so you can have second gear... The 4t60 has the round plug too, with less wires, also on E-trans I did the wiring differently than this? Two grounds one hot, worked great.
