Count the wires or check for the stamping on the pan.

Boooooo, what the deuce? OK lets make a list and tackle what we need so its easy for the new guys to find. #1. Hotwire Coil Packs. #2. Hotwire Transmission. #3. Carb conversions. #4. Headers #5. Cooling system. #6. CV Axles #7.... I've got some experience with these but really just gut-n-go type derbies. All I've ever done is pull wiring and components away from the fenders and zip tie them more inboard. Building another now, a 96, can someone explain what could go wrong that would be fixed by doing items #1 & 2 above?

The 93 has overdrive the 94 does not so the 93 is either a 4t60 or a 4t60e and the 94 must be the 3t40 correct ?

If you don't hotwire the transmission you will almost never get 1st. So without 1st you'll have a lumina that cant get out of its own way. starting out in 2nd also causes alot more heat, heat isn't good for these motors because of limp mode. To try and eliminate limp mode you should pull the coolant temp sensor out of the intake (its by the thermostate) put a pipe plug in the hole and zip tie the sensor to something. It will read air temp rather than water temp. Hotwire Coil packs just removes the computer from your ignition control.

Pull the boots off the coil packs while its running. Only gotta pop one off of each pack to tell if the coil pack is bad. If you wanted, you could use a long neck plires to pull the wires off. You'll know right away if your doing it wrong. (really tickles when your front bumper is about weiner height)

Did you do head gaskets? If so did you put push rods in wrong spots?

Ok Clinton is a 4t60e??? Look at the pan and let me know... Is it a 7 wire plug??? Yes, pan is stamped 4T60-E, and yes, there is a 7 wire plug right out front.

I'm in the process of building a 94 lumina. 3.1, what should I do to ensure it will run as long as it needs on terms of wiring and fuses/relays. It's completely stock right Also in am elaborate pm can someone tell me how to hotwire the transmission and coil packs ?
