Id run em solid. Anything to help keep the sub/rails together, the better. Yea, that's what I'm thinking, and I'm thinking about running a softer bumper, I usually run a smith metal works heavy flat. But with only being able to mount the front solid and the angle the subframe is gunna be I think I'll go softer bumper and front mounts solid.

Have any of you all put and older sub and 3100 in a 2002-2005 monte carlos, I got a chance to buy 3 for a fair price, they seem longer in the rear compared to the older ones, I'll probably buy them either way, might run one and try it for myself or save them for enduro cars.

They are longer actually. 111inches compared to 108 for the 1st & 2nd gen Gen's. A little work you can swap it out .

Who was making the metal ac/ps by pass pulleys for the 3100. Was it baldwin? I'm in need of new set up, I was using a plastic one from a scrap car and had it bolted up just right below the intake. Well on my last run I had a strut tower collapse in and crack it. So I'm kinda looking to switch to a metal one

Is anyone buying 3100/3400 wiring harnesses to make simplified harnesses. I have 13 complete harnesses and 2 harnesses that are hacked up. If anyone needs a harness or knows someone that would buy them let me know.

Hey all, im super stumped and can't seem to figure out what is wrong with this car. Olds cutlass supreme, 3100 I converted to carb. Have a holley 2bbl (smaller than 4412) cant remember the number on it. I ran this car last year and it ran like absolute crap. Would just die outa no where and would take forever to start and pretty much kill my battery. Well here I am this year same car (haven't touched it since last year) same damn problem. While cranking it backfires, spits fuel back out top of the carb and takes forever to start. If I just start cranking it, without giving it any fuel it doesn't start but doesn't backfire either. As soon as i give it a tiny bit of fuel it hates it, have to turn fuel pump on and off while cranking and do it multiple times and it will eventually start up slowly. Once it starts it runs great. But as soon as it shuts off, it repeats itself and takes alot of cranking, time and finagling to get it to start and by then my battery dies and its not a small battery either about 750 cca. Any help? I pulled spark plugs today and they are at a .65" gap, usually run around a .35" with a carbureted engine. Would the bigger gap and potentially weak spark be causing my issue? I've messed with air/fuel on carb, ive swapped to a smaller motorcraft, Rochester and two different holleys and same problem so I've decided the carb isn't the problem.

Might try another set of coil packs and module if you have access to any others just to eliminate that but it sounds like timing issue.

I replaced the module after I burned up the original one on the car when I accidentally wired it up wrong and burned it up. All 3 coils are producing a healthy strong spark. Would it be worth it to swap to a distributor to adjust the timing? Also could have anything to do with the cps?
