gas tank protectors came to be from all the years of drivers not putting protectors in car bodys.times change, technology changes, as well as building of cars, these protectors came from incidents where drivers were in danger at one point or another and no injury should be the casue of a rule change in future events. driver safety is the most important and should be considered not to stregthen a car, but for a driver, if for some reason a tank was not fastened correctly or came loose there is at least a secondary safety measure for the drivers sake

Gas tank protectors didn't come into effect until someone figured out how to use it to help strengthen the rearend of a car, mainly the humps on these newer cars. Then, wrapped it around a gas tank and labeled as just that, a "gas tank protector".

Tj, I ended up working 9 of your rules into ours, so anyone who wants to run both your stock class and our stock derby, should be able too with just some minor, minor work. Thanks again! George.

POWER WHEELS
1. Stock battery can be replaced with a 12 volt mower battery only, it can be positioned anywhere inside the car and covered except in the passenger seat. 2.The doors and hood/trunk need to be secured so they do not come open by using a bungee cord, rope or zip tie. 3. Seatbelts are not mandatory but are recommended. 4. Helmets are MANDATORY. 5. Any rollover bars will be allowed as long as we feel they are safe and don't reinforce the cars. 6. ALL POWER WHEELS MUST SET LIKE THE STORE BOUGHT ONES NO RAISING OR LOWERING THE FRONT OR REAR OF THE POWER WHEELS

Your Battery may not be located in one of those areas, and i really don't see the need to go to that extreme for a kids derby. I will let you melt the doors together if you feel you want to put the work into for safety but i do not want the hood or trunk melted shut
