I take mine out. when front starts going up will come into contact with the crank pulley. Pics aren't that great try to zoom in. Right between rachet straps on radiator you might see it. But you get the idea.

I leave them in but heat and bend the middle. Its all personal preference. There are many reasons to run or not run one. It all depends on your rules and what set up you are running.

They can help hold the front down some on stock type builds with solid suspension or big springs. This car had stock motor mounts with no protectors. They serve a bigger purpose on certain type of builds with cradles, pulley protectors etc. Especially if your sway bar is mounted under your pulley protector. Everyone has their own theories on sway bars. It has been discussed on here for years with no one correct answer. There are just way too many variables like rules and build abilities to say that they are good or bad.

It'll be on a 73 Pontiac with limited weld. Stock mounts no cradles. An I can't fill hole in the front frame horns. Just looking for a way to help keep front down

Its been explained. If it did not make any sense, Id just play it safe and remove it completely. I do not recommend cutting it and leaving parts of it behind.

I just torch mine out on the inside of the frame rails... I don't Like messing with bolts if I got a torch nearby... But yet I still find a way to close a crank pulley up eveytime I run... Maybe I should start using the back after the front is sky high...

I'm looking into getting another car for a full weld class this season. If I use a cradle and pully protector the sway bar will hit that then hold down front for a while longer?

Make sure that dp ties into a healthy cage or itll just nose up at your feet. Bend right behind a-arm if not tied into cage. Later Mark

That's how some people do it. I am not an expert on any subject including sway bars. I have not built that type of build using the pulley protector and sway bar together myself. I cannot offer my experience on that, just what I have seen and read. You might get someone on here to offer some advise on that setup. I do know that it is being done. Again it still goes back to your rules and build. Even then you will likely have to experiment and see what works best for you and your setup.

Plus I have only ran stock classes I will take any advice I can get! I had the promoter mail me the rules and waiting to find the right car for the weld class(I don't have a printer).
