May have been easier with one solid plate, but this is to show how cheap and easy. The solid plate of steel would cost more than all of the steel I will use on whole project. Piecing it together I didn't have to ream any holes either it all lines up.

I spent a little time in shop and finished rear plate and made it bolt to back of head also for more support. I will post some pics later

No offense bro, but lets think about what you just said. What i have posted pics of is just the back plate, i dont even have the front plate done yet or the top bars or cradle or braces that bolt to the header boots. So with that being said let me ask you this, do you weld all the seams on your derby car? Do you weld plates on your derby car frame after it is bent? Now back to what you stated above, you dont trust those welds right?

Only problem i see with plate between the bell housing and block is the way the torq converter studs are. Only way i could see doing it was take converter to shop and have them convert it to a bolt in style like a gm. Then you would need an adapter to go into nose of torq converter and fly wheel to keep torq converter centered. I actually had a long conversation with hoffmeister about this out at the blizard bash in kansas. They were supposed to have theres done, but here it is the end of february and still theres isnt done. So i am making my own.
